She can coach her sister, it's her sister. It's way more appropriate than Jerry and Shalane continuing to coach her while she serves a ban. Or frankly, any other coach.
What's not appropriate is her bringing Shelby around her college team for a "motivational talk" like she did at UC-Santa Barbara, forcing her athletes to sit through a talk and keep company with a drug cheat. It puts her team in an unfair position.
Got it. Coaching a former doper is despicable. Hiring former convicts is admirable. Most people forgive.
Technically she's still a "current doper" as her ban isn't quite up yet. After that she gets to start from scratch and will then be upgraded to "former doper".
No. She gets tested and has been negative so she is not doping. She is serving a ban for having doped in the past. A meth head can go to jail for 5 years and go through withdrawal and rehab and be clean for almost the entire 5 years that she is in prison.

No one should coach any doper during their ban, and definitely no professional coach. A ban is not just for racing, but also for training with a team. That's why she pretended all the time to coincidentally bump into her old teammates on the road as well as on the track, and that's also why GDS left BTC. Not all athletes want to be close to a banned doper.
“The lack of boundaries surrounding a banned athlete, my inability to enforce my own boundaries, the poor communication surrounding this process, and the disregard for the BTC athletes’ input were the main reasons for my departure,” she says.
The "motivational talk" of course was another low.

Got it. If she doesn't currently have a needle in her azz, she's not a current doper.
Be honest with yourself here. All you and the rest of us know is what we’ve read- that’s it. You call someone you’ve never met or even spent any time with a “sociopath”. That’s not right. It’s just not. Think about that. Often, the people that scream the most critiquing other people’s actions or regarding judgement of others is usually guilty of something morally or ethically similar.
So you are trying to imply that I am guilty of “something similar,” even though you know nothing about me, after you try to weakly scold me for disparaging Shelby, who we do know something about. Shelby is a chronic liar. You are a weak defender of hers. Her PED usage doesn’t really bother me as much as her dishonesty, and then her defenders who might even be her sometimes. Very weak. Do better.
You are guilty of “something morally or ethically similar.” A lie is a lie- dishonesty is dishonest. Have you cheated on your taxes? Run a red light? Cheated on a test? Fudged a resume? Withheld information from someone? Inferred something that was not true? Of course you have. No doubt about it. You and I both know you’ve done something dishonest or wrong in your life that you wish you could take back and/or are ashamed of. There’s usually that one thing that pops straight into your head. It’s weak and disingenuous to deny it. And if you do deny it, by your rules, you are a sociopath. And of course, that’s a completely foolish notion. Anonymously accusing people of sociopathy on a random message board for a niche sport is just plain strange in and of itself. The point being: none of us are pearly white enough to judge anyone- you included. Maybe it’s best you do better?

Agreed, true dat. It's a very bad look for the university employing her that their coach is also openly coaching an athlete serving a ban. Sister or not. Seems to be a repeated lack of judgment when coupled with the "motivational talk" story. If she wants to coach her sister, then she should make that her full-time gig and leave Iowa. Sounds like everyone would be better for it!
Shelby is no such thing. She is no different than any other elite runner in this country and cleaner than the Africans. I hope Trump pardons her as soon as he is back in office. Free Shelby!
Shayla and Shelby have similar personalities. Both are wild girls. You either love them or hate them. Shelby is the American record holder. Of course Shayla is going to gush about it and it will help with recruiting.
If you go to basically any location except the downtown one, pancheros is great! No idea how the one on campus is so consistently subpar compared to the rest
Shayla posting Shelbo workouts as Insta stories shows she knows what she is doing is wrong as the stories are short and don't stay like a post. If she was genuine she would do an actual post. Why Iowa has her on staff while she is actively coaching a known druggie serving a suspension is beyond the pale.
