He's running something like 3 km a day now. That will take maybe 20 minutes. How does that keep him from trying other sports? He might even do better at them because running makes him fitter?
The boy's going to break Ron Hill's consecutive-day running streak. And he's going to run on the moon. And he's going to win a gold medal in the Olympics. And he's going to run, literally, for President of the United States, and win. And I'm going to milk this news story for all I can, and even profit from it if I can, all by putting my illegitimate son in the limelight against his will...because he's a good boy who does what Daddy tells him. Oh, he's going to win the lottery, too, and the Celtics are going to win the Super Bowl. What? The Celtics are in the NBA, not the NFL? Do you mean I am wrong in my prognosticating? At least some of the time? Even most of the time? Maybe all of the time? Still, ain't predicting easy?
How can be president of the usa? Dolt.
Also Celtic is a Scottish football team from Glasgow.
Society lets its kids vegetate for seven hours a day on social media and video games while claiming that it is abuse to allow a kid to knock out a mile or two a day. That is the definition of insanity.
I don't think it's the fact that it's 1-2 miles a day (or 3km a day) on average, but it's the fact he can never take a day off. So if he's really ill or injures himself he may try to push through it to run in order not to break the streak, which is pointless and unhealthy. I don't think pursuing streaks like this is a healthy thing.
"The hardest bit so far was when I was ill in November, I had to keep getting out of my bed to run. "I felt dizzy and it was really hard but I was encouraged to keep going because I did not want to break my challenge and also because I have raised £1,600 so far for charity."
Funny thing is he kind of looks a bit like Ron Hill, including the long hair. Add the mustache when he's old enough to grow one. Best of luck to him. I've got no chance of being around in 2075 so I'll just choose to believe he'll get it.

If a streak literally can't end unless the streaker decides it has (or dies), what is the point?
Agree. I started a running streak during COVID out of boredom. I got 1100+ days of injury free running into it (just over 3 years) until I got plantar fasciitis. When keeping the streak meant staying injured and daily torture, it wasn't fun anymore. All I needed was 3 days off and a few weeks of lower mileage and the foot was better. I was happy to end it.
I still run most days, but don't hesitate to take a day off if it makes sense.
I started a streat at age 11 that is now 30 years strong and I know I have not missed a day. I have jerked off every day for the past 30 years and now as a married man I intend too keep this streaking going strong for another 60 years. It is also easier on the joints and when I was in the hospital all the nursing eye canned made sure too keep my streak going.
You know what it means - I don't need to join the dots for you. You're oversimplifying a complex situation to the point of no longer adding anything useful to the discussion.

I donot know what it means and I sort of feel like you won't join the dots because you can't.

When I read this article last week I concluded it will last until a day after the kid moves out. Pushy parents just wanted lime limelight via the kid. poor guy.
