Travis would sit and kick. He’s essentially a receiver which does take some good aerobic ability. He’s also a man.
If he came across a chair during their race, he would sit, but there wouldn’t be a kick.
He’s also a man.
I read an article a few years back that said the act of being a football player (what they do, the lifestyle, actually turns them into women because it lowers testosterone and raises estrogen.
If that's true Taylor better skeedadle outta there before he gets to his mid-40's.
No way Taylor comes even close to beating Kelce. Assuming they both actually race it hard, he'd beat her by at least a minute if not much more.
He's a professional athlete, and even within the NFL he plays a position that requires a fair amount of stamina (i.e. he's not a 315lb offensive lineman).
Bad take. T Kelce is capable of embarrassing a lot of average guys sitting on bar stool, 200m and shorter. 5K for a 34 year old NFL player? No way is he breaking 21 for 5K. I don't think T Swift can break 21, 5K. T Kelce beating her by a minute? No.
There is about zero chance she breaks 21. Go look where that is for woman in the average 5k field. Course there is about zero percent chance of Kelsey dropping a sub 21 also. I would be pretty impressed by a 25…..
The year was 1981. I was 15 and won a turkey for my first-place finish at the turkey trot sponsored by our Palo Alto apartment complex. My dad was second. And Jim Plunkett, a hulking late-career back-up QB for the Oakland Raiders, was third in 18-something.
So there's better than a zero chance that Kelce could break 21. And Taylor is essentially a professional athlete in an adjacent sport, too. So who knows if she can beat him.
Kelce was once in Paris for fashion week in 2019 and realized he hadn’t trained the entire week. They walked to a bridge that crossed over a canal and ran eight 400-meter sprints. Yes, that actually happened. It shows the drive that this superstar athlete has.
When I was in college, the college basketball team used to have to run a mile time trial before final cuts for the walk-ons. I was taking to the guys about it and I was absolutely shocked at how fast everyone, from top to bottom, ran the mile. The guys were all in fantastic shape, but even the seven foot, 275-300+ pound guys were breaking 6:00. It ultimately turned out that the coach had them doing eight laps on a 160 meter track thinking it was a 200 meter track.
Multiple guys at 275-300+ pounds? Wow! I checked about 10 NBA rosters at random and found two players at 280 pounds. And no, a 300 pound guy cannot run 6:00. Huge people running a mile was discussed in an ancient LR thread. On the first page, a poster knew of one that ran a mile on 5:53 but he was driven in a car for part of it:

Zion williamson ran a 5 min mile in HS at 250 or so pounds. But he's a genetic freak and had the highest vo2 max recorded by whatever lab he was at. genetics trump all and you can't really judge kelce's 5k ability on his weight or training...would be willing to bet there are a decent number of crossfit bros that can beat 40 mile a week female ultramarathoners in a 5k
I've heard she is a distance runner and trains on the treadmill at times to stay in shape for her concerts. I'm not 100% sure though.
Yes, she has described her treadmill training (she sings her set while running), and this was discussed at painful length in another thread.
Anyway, the answer is OBVIOUSLY Swift.
If I'm at the local 5k and I see a 5'11 130-pound ultra-fit woman on the line, next to a 6'5" 250-pound man with love handles, I am betting on the fit woman EVERY TIME.
That's even before the woman shares that she runs most days. I don't care AT ALL if the hefty guy plays football. (The sport with average play length under 5 seconds.)
