Yeah but Renato Canova says EPO doesn’t do anything so why would anyone even think about taking it?
I have a question about this. I am a beat up old man now, but at 22 my hematocrit was 50%, on barely 20-25mpw. My understanding is that anything above 50% is a red flag for anti-doping. Are some people much lower naturally and their many hours of aerobic conditioning doesn't get it up to 50%? They have to resort to EPO? What am I missing here?
I mean, I get that EPO can boost it above 50% but I thought such a high hematocrit would flag them. So what's the point?
