Very few cycling fans celebrate Lance. Unlike the others listed (and like Marion Jones), his crimes directly involved cheating in the sport. He lifted up the sport for awhile on a lie, and then he ruined it for a lot of people when the truth came out. You don't come back from that. Obviously he wasn't the only one cheating and lying, but he was the worst (i.e., most advanced doper, most aggressive about denying it and ruining ppl who questioned him).

Those are some pretty strong allegations you're throwing out. Yeah, we know there's some some substantial doping issues with the Tour and track, but to say "EVERYONE" in the Tour and "95%" of the 2000 Olympians were doping is irresponsible. More annoying, is that you come off as if you're a reliable and credible source. You're also saying it's ok to dope just as long everyone else is...WTF!

I don't think you understand how big of a difference performance enhancing drugs make. There is no way a clean person can beat a doped up person. You also underestimate just how prevalent they were. Even when I was in high school in the 90s, 80% of my high school's football team were doing steroids. These kids got access to it just to make the varsity team over JV. People would do ANYTHING to make an Olympic team.

It's not OK to dope, I was just asking why she got unequal treatment compared to other known dopers such as Said Aouita, Justin Gatlin, and every NFL player in the world.

I spent a few years working with Lemond,(not racing related) before and after his gunshot incident. Obviously people are going to believe what they want, but Lemond was violently opposed to drugs and even refused liquids from teammates and training partners in fear he could be "set-up". If you look at his progress as a teenager, he was blessed with an incredible VO2 max (one of the highest ever measured). His improvement was linear, not sudden. His immediate suspicion of Armstrong was well documented. I will always believe him to be clean based on what I know first-hand, but understand that others will always be inclined to believe the otherwise.

The banned coach (10 years) Remi Korchemny was Marion Jones coach in high school. Most athletes are clean in HS but some like Marion were not.
