Truth exists independent of who writes it or the form in which it is conveyed. Either the material in the tweet is the diversity hire's thesis, or it isn't.
This thread feels like the "Official Russia vs Ukraine war" thread a couple months back. The "Ukraine is winning" commenters were getting frantic, demanding censorship, and losing their minds because it was becoming obvious, even to them, that Russia was winning.
Fast forward to today, and the "Ukraine is winning" commenters have vanished since is obvious to all that Ukraine has lost and all that remains is how much Ukrainian territory Russia will annex.
Bet your house that Gay's thesis was indeed plagiarized and her "defense" will be very weak and probably include the word "racist." Open question: Will blatant plagiarism like this cause her resignation? Eh, maybe so, maybe no. Academic standards < equity.
A black woman who is president of the most prestigious university in America is all of a sudden accused of plagiarism.

You have yet to provide one shred of evidence of plagerism. All you have done is link to unverified claims on Twitter. Show us the goods and explain what, specifically, was plagerized or STFU.

Look at Nobel Prize winners in non-fluff (e.g. literature and peace) prizes. Most are white or Asian males. Asian or white males are systemically discriminated against so much that they have to be exceptional to get the same looks as a far less qualified black woman.
It is not plagiarism. It is at best editorial nit picking over whether quotation marks were necessary (very subjective in the context of directly speaking about another author's work) and a section where a reference to her dissertation advisor's work was further down in an appendix instead of being more prominent. Pretty much by definition there is no plagiarism when your dissertation advisors approves of how you have referenced his work.
All these clowns do is take plagiarism software and run it through someone's dissertation they do not like. There is absolutely nothing in here that is anywhere close to meeting the intent required for plagiarism.
