Did Lorelei Barrett compete in XC at all or did she disappear after outdoor?
(My thoughts- while trans people should have their pronouns, the harsh biological reality is the Y chromosome affects much more than just testosterone levels when it comes to running- everything from bone structure to lung size to VO2 max to the number of red blood cells. Not all of it can be reversed with estrogen supplements, and trans men cannot catch up tro Y chronosomed cis men perfectly with T. Therefore, there should be more divisions added for trans and nonbinary folks... or we can just change the names of the categories from gendered terms to XX and XY, references to the biological chromosomes. While in an ideal world E for trans girls and T for trans boys will eradicate the differences dictated bty XX versus XY, this is not an ideal world.
Barrett competed in the boys' division.
Very interesting that Lorelei Barrett (biological male) ran XC this season as a boy, after being a top finisher in the girls division last year in track and XC. I wonder why he switched to boys division? Pressure? Sensitive to the unfairness about beating most the girls in his race?
What is the basis for boys and girls sports? Just because it is physical differences that are the common reason for separation, doesnt' make it right, although to many it seems obvious. Maybe you have a better explanation? Please explain.
If this is a question directed at me, the distinction should be based on biologically based advantage / disadvantage in athletic competitions. The current legislations that passed in 23 states and counting base it on people's reproductive organs. They have zero interest in making distinction between pre-puberty and post-puberty transitions, and they completely ignore the existence of people with DSD. (They are fully aware of people with DSD when it comes to banning gender affirming health care.)
This is because those people who are pushing the ban believe gender transition itself is immoral. It does not matter to them whether trans athletes have any advantage. That's why they try to force trans boys to compete against girls. That's why they also try to ban trans girls from singing in a girls' choir.
DALLAS — The American Civil Liberties Union of Texas filed federal civil rights complaints Thursday against a fine arts public charter school in Fort Worth and a Fort Worth-area school district for
No one is suing state policies that require hormone treatment as a condition for trans girls' participation. There are some vocal activists who are also against them. But the only lawsuit filed on behalf of trans athletes are against total bans. In some cases, they are suing for the rights to get their medical records examined. It's obvious which side is the absolutists.
What polls show majority moral unacceptability? Are you implying that specifically for surgical transition? How can that be squared with the following numbers from a year back?
- 64% of Americans think trans should be protected from “discrimination in jobs, housing and public spaces”;
- 38% think gender can be different from sex assigned at birth while 60% think not;
- people are about evenly divided on whether society has gone too far or not gone far enough on accepting trans;
- only 46% think it should be illegal to provide medical care for gender transition (so 54% don’t think it should be illegal);
- 58% think trans athletes should compete with the sex they were assigned at birth (so 42% don’t necessarily think so).
First of all, your Pew poll is from last year. Here is a more recent one.
Regardless of whether or not you think it should be legal, please tell me whether you personally believe that in general it is morally acceptable or morally wrong to change one's gender.
Americans are less supportive than two years ago of transgender athletes being allowed to play on sports teams that match their current gender identity.
Pew and Gallup are also asking different questions. It is possible that someone thinks gender transition is immoral, but at the same time a trans person should not face discrimination. (Just because someone has done something immoral, that does not automatically justify discrimination against that person.)
This is the stupid poop that’s going to force me to vote for the right next year. This sucks and having a senile president sucks. We need to be taught a lesson on common sense. There needs to be a better candidate for the left. We need a new JFK.
Per the CIF XC Championship entries, Athena will not be competing in the state meet, possibly thanks to harassments from creeps like you. Mission accomplished I guess.

Oh but having criminal and rapist trump, or conspiracist kennedy is good right...

Maybe someone explained to him the difference between sex and gender
Can you imagine being an adult that is willing to talk crap about a 15-17 year old due to participation in a high school sport where absolutely no money is involved and frankly nobody outside of LetsRun follows or cares about?
what would it take for you to attack a person you don’t know who is half or a third of your age and still maturing? Think about it.
The person who took the video is trash, the person who started this thread is trash.
Can you imagine thinking it's ok to cheat because the people being cheated are just high school girls, so they don't matter?
My post on this thread directly quoting Riley Gaines was deleted as "discriminatory and bigoted." That should mean mods consider Riley Gaines is discriminatory and bigoted.
Really she should have more important things to be outraged about than nutcrackers and Santa.

Thanks. It is possible that people’s responses are very sensitive to the exact wording of the question. Also possible a nontrivial fraction of people may not quite understand what exactly trans means, but when pressed with a question that makes them think about the possibility of personal choice or agency (“to change one’s gender”), they get more uncomfortable, which possibility is also consistent with 60% thinking gender can’t be different from natal sex, a question I’d interpret as a matter of definition, not opinion.

People usually have more positive views on "gays and lesbians" than on "homosexuals" (although they are asked essentially the same question). "Gays and lesbians" focus on people, while "homosexuals" focus on their acts. It could be the same way with "transgenders" and "changing one's gender."
BTW, at least some transgender people believe they have never "changed their gender." They have always had the same gender identity. The only difference is whether it is recognized by people around them.

I hope Democrats campaign on this along with their other woke BS. "Let males dominate female sport, the economy is great (don't believe your eyes), and cities are as safe as ever!"
This is the result of the republican agenda not allowing basic biology to be taught to kids. They grow up confused!
