Has done it for straight years without injuries in the NCAA championship...
With three straight top 10 finishes without injuries..
Third last year without injuries...
Without injuries means that when the big race came she wasn't injured and was able to do good...
Again it makes no sense because it's obviously not a sprain it's a chronic overuse injury...
So it's just bad planning
life sure is easy with the power of hindsight isn't it?
Not as easy as it is when you can just throw out a cliche to solve any situation... What's the point of even having a message board... because... it is what it is...

You surmised that Chmiel is out due to a chronic overuse injury with no evidence and based on that then suggested that its the injury is her fault for not taking it easier. But sure its the cliche that's the problem.
And the premise is faulty to begin with. She has been injured before. It was literally just last year XC season where she was the regular season question mark and nobody knew when she was going to open up and how healthy she would be after missing Outdoors in 2022 with injury.
I hope Touhy wins, but she doesn’t, I hope it is great race with three or four front runners racing to the line. It is the best part of track & field & Cross Country! The pre-race talk is awesome, but it is decided on course, not some poll. I wouldn’t be surprised if NAU’s Stearns win’s it either!

Yes there is evidence! When Jonathan Galt said to her in an interview a few hours ago what was the specific injury... She replied it's a lower leg thing she just can't run on it, we've had MRIs done...
... she implied it.... If it was a sprain she would have said.. oh she sprained her ankle it was an unfortunate thing. But no no one has said that..
I mean it's not rocket science... like it's an obvious thing... She's had overuse injuries in the past, which just implies they should have been a little more aware...
I'm just saying it's pretty bad when Your second best runner gets injured right before the big race
And if you look at all the teams how many of their top two runners just got injured in the last 2 weeks?
I would say it's very possible that she's the only athlete that are among the top runners that just got hurt right before the race!
...she just ran at conference champs and got third...
... if it was any other sport and this happened people would definitely be like oh that's crazy. If a basketball player couldn't play for the championship game because he spent all day dribbling and his hand was chronically overused... people would be like oh hey you should have probably planned a little better...
I mean yeah stuff happens but from a team perspective it's kind of a bummer...

No, it is not obvious. It is quite the opposite. She specifically stated that she got hurt "the Sunday after ACCs," "it isn't fractured," it is lower leg, and mentioned the amount of edema. When overuse injuries occur, they are almost always insidious. Rarely can you point to the day it happened because it happened over a long period of time. With acute injuries, it is easy to define the time it happened; you see a football player roll his ankle on a certain play and there is no doubt about when the injury occurred.
I have no idea what her injury is but I would bet 95% that it is something acute. Maybe she was on a trail run in Umstead and stepped in a rut and rolled her ankle. It can happen on a recovery run as easily as on a hard run.
Tuohy wins by 15 seconds. She let Valby go at Nutty. She literally rolled her eyes at Valby at one point. 'Like why are you racing so hard, its not nationals you dumb tangent unaware airhead!'
