wiley may have wanted that specific type of christian college, like the 400 hurdler guy who was at the random D2. IMO she got cinderella appeal at a weird sort of interim spot between running eras at 800 and 1500, a lot of former top notch runners falling off, and the next generation kind of in-college still. i am not sure if next year and beyond as this shakes out she's still a big deal. her times are good but not mu great.
and at XC, definitely not. the D3 girl smith is a minute faster at 6k which is beyond the "but what about the course" quibbling some do on such comparisons. and she's like 20s slower a mile on a track. and there will be a few dozen girls capable of running her time that won NAIA when D1 gathers.
