I live in Australia. My nanny is from Kenya. She’s been living with us since the pandemic. I was having a fee drinks with her after my rounds the other night in our basement shaft room. She mentioned how she wants to stay in shape but is scared to run on roads in Robina due to racism. I surprised her yesterday with a treadmill delivery for the basement shaft room which will now double as a parlor and exercise room for her. My wife is absolute furious that I bought her the treadmill. Not sure what the big deal is. The happier and healthier she is, the happier my son will be. Thoughts?
That was a very nice thing to do, but you should have talked to your wife about it first because women will get jealous when you buy things for other women let alone if the other women even cooks you food. I believe some posters on this thread asked for pics. Please oblige their requests lol :)
As a Kenyan, in our local parlance (when we were younger), that word connoted other things that I don't want to delve into right now. It obviously had nothing to do with the propeller shaft of a car (drive shaft for the Americans).
Kenyan nanny running on treadmill in the basement shaft room. Turning the heat up down there to harden up the session. Sweating all over the good doctors setup. She’s working hard to be the best for him and the children.
Have we all forgotten about how "sexist" and "dystopian" it is for a man to buy a woman fitness equipment? Only four years ago, because a woman enjoyed exercising on a machine a man dared to buy her. The wife here is probably protecting the innocence of the nanny's under-exercised body.
Peloton is standing by a controversial TV ad for the company's pricey stationary bikes despite a flurry of online criticism. Detractors say the spot promotes...
Did anyone see last night where the Kenyan nanny posted her own thread with her side of the story. It looks like it was deleted? She said something like, “my white employer is making me run on treadmill on shaft room”.
Just want to let everyone know that my wife and I have opted to select a Kenyan nanny based on this thread. TBH we got a bit turned on by the idea of a shaft room, so we’re moving forward with selection and will be moving her in this evening.
