Matt Wisner is definitely moving to Blacksburg, fwiw
Any of there guys moving back to Blacksburg with their college coach will get them good results. Is that what they want, good results? Or do they want to have a chance at a global medal. There is a difference and going to Blacksburg won’t get Cole or Cooper and medal.
I got a spare room for free rent, $200 a week in allowance (a few babysitting hours), world class training location and a proven coaching system. Take it.... or leave it?
The two best options for him were Ben Thomas or Andy Powell. It's interesting how Powell who is a better 1500 coach than Jerry also viewed Teare as a 5k guy.
I mean, Teare's PR in the 8 is only 1:47.48. It was indoors, and maybe he can run 1:46, but you have to be pretty damn strong to be an elite 1500m guy with that 800 pr.

It could get them a medal but it will most likely not. An American needs the entire power of their sponsor behind them. Living the pro life in Virginia as volunteer coaches is not good enough. Cooper and Cole have a lot of maturing to do and a pro team structure adds accountability and competitiveness. The right physio, massage, strength help will not be found in Blacksburg. Good luck to them but jumping off one program to go to another does not bode well for Teare.

It's exactly what he did with BTC. It takes time usually to adapt to a program - many athletes have spoken about this directly with respect to Jerry's training.
Hopefully he doesn't miss another year of making major teams because he's looking for immediate results. Grass isn't always greener...
Jakob's got a 1:46 pr with 3:27.14, 7:23, 7:54, 12:48, and two 5000m golds, while among the other contenders Jake Wightman has 1:43/3:29, Tim Cheruiyot has 1:43/3:28, Josh Kerr has 1:45/3:29, and Mohamed Katir has 3:28/7:24/12:45, so Cooper Teare's 1:47/3:32/13:06 are too weak to contend, both from a speed and a strength background. However, he can drop to 1:45 and/or drop below 13. I thought he'd do the latter with Jerry next year but he's rolled the dice in an Olympic year now and has to hope he can improve by going back with Cole Hocker or going his own way.
1) Shelby Houlihan is behind the scenes sniping Bowerman athletes (Fisher and Teare) for her own superteam, named Burrito Track Club, to enact revenge on Jerry by retaking the trademark of “BTC”.
2) Gjert’s sons have mutinied and he must adopt new sons to defeat them for the prodigal son Jakob to retire and return to the family. Like something out of Talladega Nights, where F1 star Jean Girard defects from France and comes to America to compete in NASCAR against Ricky Bobby. When he eventually loses he retires and returns back to France, knowing he has been defeated by a superior driver. He is courting young BTC athletes to join his new team, named “Gjert’s Association of Young Stars” (GAYS), as a nod to Jean Girard’s orientation.
