People on these boards get waaaay too into competitive cycling in my opinion whenever people talk of leaving running.
I have a Peloton, with no chance of accidents, that I use every day. Bust our a good 30- or 45-minute intervals and arms workout most days (listening to my own music) and I absolutely love it.
I'm still in great shape, am a lot stronger than I used to be in my marathoning days, and haven't been dealing with injuries for the past 2.5 years since I started this.
For me, best investment I've made in the past decade. I really get the same satisfaction, that same "man I really pushed it today!" feeling that I got while doing 60+ mpw as a runner.
It's super time efficient (even 20 minute rides can be a great workout).
And I get in my socializing when I'm doing other things-- ie: for me, I don't need the Zwift stuff.
Just throwing this out there for you, since it might be an option for you!
(I randomly did a timed mile running, having not run in like 11 months, recently, and hit 5:35. Not bad for a 38 year old who was probably in 4:55 shape a few years back when I was a 2:43 marathoner)
