Timewise having so many OKST runners at 23 minutes for 8K seems devastating to NAU's chances. NAU's 4-5 are more like 23 high guys at 8k. Can't compare across courses and weather, but OKST does seem better on paper. They also have 6-7 guys who probably contend with NAU's 4-5.
Gonna take another crazy kick by Hasty and Prosser in the last stretch of the race if NAU has a chance.
BYU puts up 35 to beat OK States 39. Taylor Roe wins the individual title beating Jepkirui by 7 seconds. Good run by Jenna Hutchins for 6th. If she can stay healthy, it’ll be interesting to see what times she can put up

Wow…BYU held it strong. That was close. OSU’s surge made it interesting. Although I think OSU may have an advantage in a bigger race with more displacement, these two teams are pretty much battling for 2/3rd in Virginia.

BYU was a great addition to the conference.
OSU clearly doesn't have the depth BYU has. That gap will kill OSU at nationals. BYU doesn't have a guaranteed low sticks, which may very well keep them off the podium. But they are incredibly deep. Neither are contenders for a title. BYU at least has a podium shot.

OSU will benefit in a big field because of their top 3 over a BYU but also OSU's 4 and 5 are 40 seconds back of their 3rd. That was only 10 points difference today, that will be 50+ at nationals. I dont see OSU getting on the podium unless their 4th and 5th pick it up at nationals. NAU, NC State, Florida, BYU look like the podium to me in that order if it were run tomorrow.

So great to see Taylor Roe looking strong. She's back.
I hadn’t realized Davin Thompson was out for the season, that would have made the race much more interesting. Cool to see the freshmen making an impact this year but I’m too lazy to go on BYU’s page to see if they are true freshmen or mission redshirts.
Let’s say Casey Clinger and Davin Thompson were healthy. Casey wins, Davin finishes with his brother Creed, and BYU wins in a tiebreak. Really unfortunate to see them lose those two guys. Nationals would be a lot more entertaining with NAU, OSU, and BYU at full strength. Then again, I’m not sure if NAU or OSU have lost any of their top guys this year

Well, I don't think Murhead, STitt or Price are at the level of NAU's 4-5 runners, so it's gotta be Massau and S*tsama at the top of their game, and S*tsama was never in it.
Also, the 6th man Schoppe was a noshow today.
I'm rooting hard for NAU to lose and for Okl St to win, but S*tsama needs it

Actually I totally blanked out on NC state. I still think BYU or OSU will be 3rd based off how both coaches historically taper their athletes. The only team that can touch NAU on a bad day is NC state. BYU’s scoring depth will really benefit them in a crowded race, the sense of familiarity.
Some of those OSU women are most likely very dull and 2-3 weeks from being sharp like most other teams. Those front 3 look like they’re ready to be top 30. I can ponder all I want, we can only see in 3 weeks time. Great battle between both teams today.

OSU lost Isai Rodriguez, Rory Leonard, and I thought Shay Foster still had elibility. Tragically...
