This has been well known for many years. Genes are mighty powerful. Many folks over 100 can tell you they smoked and had a shot of Jack every day. But they just have good genes. It really is that simple. Medical care has little to do with it IMO. Modern medicine doesnt have too much evidence based treatment for magically making you live longer. Money can buy transplants and better surgeons. Not so much better prophylactic care. That's statins and screenings and good luck.
Now he probably does eat this crap but also the wife likely forces some fiber and quality food on him from time to time is my guess.
You do know what the average life expectancy was before modern medicine don’t you?
In terms of a "rich" person buying more years...no... modern medicine is not hiding expensive life extenders. With the exception of buying better surgeons and moving up transplant lists and such. We all benefit from modern medicine, to be more clear. But Warren isnt being kept alive by better care. You can be killed by poor care. But there is a ceiling for good preventative care. Exercise, luck, genes, statins maybe, possibly diet, and screenings. (And diet we are still figuring out.)
BTW, to me, seeing old people every day, I am far more impressed with how he can still run a (gigantic) company and still be sharp enough for annual reports and such than the fact he is not dead. That... is super rare at his age. Cognitive decline is pretty significant at 90 for all of us. He is more than just alive. Go to youtube and watch one of his annual reports/buffetcon.
It has long been speculated he suffers from a eating disorder Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder, which is basically like extreme picky eating but you can have physical reactions (that might be psychosomatic like throwing up) to eating foods outside of certain comfort foods. His diet has been described exactly the same for years which is consistent with people who have this. I know a person who is almost 60 year old w/ ARFID and is pretty wealthy in my family and he does things make sure he is not killing himself with his diet. He works with a nutritionist that specializes in this and he gets weekly vitamin drips and take like a million supplements and get protein by milkshakes especially made for them but he literally only otherwise eats breakfast pasteries and bread. He comes to dinner with my family and we always go to places that serve dinner rolls because that's the only thing he eats but he is weirdly healthy and workouts a ton. He's a runner and isn't really fast but is way faster than most hobby joggers his age. I don't think Warren Buffet is lying about his diet per se (mostly because it's been talked about in like every article about his personal life for decades) he just probably knows he has a problem and has been handling the same way my father does.

Interesting hypothesis, thanks. I’m guessing ARFID in some part might be caused or at least exacerbated by narrowing diet in the first place, i.e., your gut microbiome “forgets” how to digest foods you don’t eat regularly.
I remember a programme called 'Freaky Eaters' where it showed individuals who did things such as only eat fries for years on end. What was shocking about it was that often their test results were normal! It was crazy. Amazing how resilient the body is sometimes. Obviously something has to give but often the only thing wrong with them was anaemia and so on.
This 19 year old's diet is 'carb overload'. Can Stephen Briers and Natalie Savona cure her freaky eating?#FreakyEaters #FullEpisode #CarbsSeason 2 Episode 7:...

Actually, through my Dad I know multiple people have been in this show are now active on the ARFID community online. There is a women named, Amber who only eats fries and got a lot press around her episode for some reason and is a big advocate about ARFID now.
I hope that they managed to get well. It looked severely limiting. I remember one episode where the girl managed to eat half of a full meal at the end and she was overjoyed.
Berkshire Hathaway owns stock in the vast majority of the things Buffet cites as part of his daily diet. Everyone who reposts this is just doing free advertisement for him.
I just drink coke, I only buy IBM laptops, I only buy gas for my car from Exxon, I only grocery shop in Walmart, I only bank with Wells Fargo and only trust the doctors and researchers at DaVita Healthcare
Buffet is probably paying many millions to Proctor and Gamble and DaVita for drugs that us peasants will never have heard of, to keep him healthy. Stocks from them 2 make up over 6% of his investments

As someone who can afford anything, why would you think Buffett wouldn’t have healthy tasty meals made for him by the finest chef he can find rather than continue to eat crap and live dependent on drugs? Nobody picks the latter unless they don’t have a choice.
My parents lived into their 80s eating processed meat and refined sugar daily. My in laws were clean food vegetarians and died in their mid 70s. I really think the genetic lottery has a lot to do with this, so its not hard to believe he eats sh*t and is still going in his 90s. Honestly if I’m 90 I’m eating whatever the f*** I want. Why wouldn’t you?
