At this writing a shutdown appears certain and is about 27 hours away. I'm not interested in assigning blame for it or having political arguments, just want to know how it affects people--if at all--in their daily lives.
My impression/memory is that most people handled the last shutdown just fine--but I could be expunging the bad effects from my memory, I suppose.
Anyway, keep us posted. How ya doin'?
I am a GS-12 and my wife is a GS-11 we are both not shut down and will still be working both DoD. I also get VA which is not being disturbed.

I am a Republican but because of the Dems I am still getting paid the Republicans are the ones that were shutting us down not the Dems.

Anyway, let's revive this thread in mid-Nov. when the real sh*tdown happens. Nothing brings holiday cheer quite like political chaos (again).
