Jerry's got issues. If a kid wants to post on Strava then post away.
Everyone's got issues. He's the coach. If he asks you to not do something then don't do it. No different than Jerry asking someone to run at a prescribed pace or lift weights on certain days. They came to Oregon to be coached by Jerry--whatever that entails. In this case not posting on Strava. If they don't like it they can always transfer. Not posting on Strava seems like a pretty innocuous request.
Han Solo 100% knows what he is talking about. He just posts exactly what he has seen on athletes strava accounts. He doesn't make anything up. If he has posted something, you can take it to the bank.
Not comparable at all. There is no secret workout. Everybody knows this.
It’s exactly the same thing. I love the secret workout excuse. If everyone knew what they were doing, then we just have great coaches everywhere. No reason to post workouts online so hacks like you and Han Solo can pretend he know something.
Not even in the same ballpark, champ. Surely your are doing a bit or playing a role here and aren't serious.
Some coaches are very insecure when it comes to their training. They don't want others to criticize what they are doing. It's not that they are afraid of someone copying. They are afraid someone will say they are doing things wrong. Jerry is very insecure.
That idiot at Colorado won’t allow Natalie Cook to post on her public Strava account either
Who cares about Strava. Its's overrated. Why would anyone post exactly the routes they run so that crazies could potentially show up. OK share the work outs not the routes, esp women. Mo;;y Seidel had some issues with crazies showing it. Strava is a stalkers dream!
Jerry never lets his athletes post on strava. I remember when Karissa joined the BTC group and she did it for about a month before he shut that down. Nothing new here from Jerry.

Jerry forbids his athletes to talk to media much of the time. You can tell that's going to be the MO for his Oregon team. It's part of what he's always done, since coaching at UW.

Aaron Bienenfeld, recent UO grad who represents Germany, posted all of his training for a year under Ben Thomas and continued to post through all of his last year at UO under Jerry. Interesting to see how different the training was between those two coaches.
