That must be one serious rift for Jakob's father not to be at his son's wedding.

Beating to his sister to the point of his brother having to to take her to protective costody with a baseball bat might just do it.

That is a rumour that I doubt is true. People in the know is not turning their back to Gjert, which I think they would if anything like that were to happen. Comments from Henrik doesn't in any way indicate this either.

That rumour has circulated, but if it was the case it is unlikely Gjert would be allowed any credential as trainer. Although the requirement to provide a clean police certificate only applies to trainers that have responsibility for minors or handicapped athletes, it would have been impossible for the Norwegian athlete organization to give any credentials or to accept a trainer with such a history. I would assume the real reason is the likely one, and the one they both have spoken about from time to time (and that Gjert has written about in one of his books, and which you can see for yourself in the reality show): the athlete/trainer relationship destroyed the father/son relationship, and they have not been able to regrow that relationship. Further, as time goes and new situations arise (like Gjert being thrown out as trainer), the gap between them further increases. It is a sad, but highly personal conflict.
