Wiley should run both but the 1500 is a better event for her domestically. Globally the 800 would be a bigger gamble with a higher reward. I would run the 1500 if I were her and not going pro this year either.
I think she can take an off game Sinclair. The biggest x factors in the 1500 are Sage hurta, purrier (I think she is already back), and cranny.
If Mu takes it even more seriously or just races the 1500 a couple times prior I honestly don't think any American could beat her. If she even just races the 800 more next year she'll be even harder to beat in the 1500. She's probably capable of a tactical 3:56ish kind of race if it plays out right.
Sinclair Johnson - when she brings her A game she's a top 3 us 1500m runner
Purrier - pregnancy aside is probably our best 1500 girl talent wise until the return of Shelby 😈.
Cranny - off fitness alone could be top 3. Might be even better than that but we need to see more 1500s from her and not 10ks.
Nikki - great championship style racer and very fit
McGee - very consistent in the second half of her career. But if she can't break 4 I can't guarantee a top 3 finish.
That's her main 1500 competition. But the 800 is even harder. But if she can run 1:57 consistently this is where I'd put all my money
Ajee - if healthy could push mu which basically no other American can do. Maybe Wiley is next up.
Nia akins - my dark horse for a medal in the Olympics
Raevyn- the Cory McGee of the 800 medalists lol very hard to beat
After those 3^ plus Mu I think she's right there. Ironically. Sage hurta it's probably her closest competition in this event too
