When anyone in a training group gets busted, then the ENTIRE group needs to go somewhere else. If they don't, they deserve the accusations. These are not teenagers and they have already left home at least once before.
god Fisher is so good I didn't realized how much I missed him this season until he ran that 5k. Looks like he's definitely over his injury, and this kind of fitness bodes really well for the Olympics next year.

Injuries are NEVER easy to deal with, especially when occurring leading into the start of the season. Grant clearly put in the early season work which paid off big time. Great to see him running well, and hopefully he will cap off a "not so ideal" season with a DL Final victory in Eugene. This will set him up nicely going into next year's Oly Games.

You have to qualify for the upcoming DL final in Eugene. You can only do that in DL races. Even if you're this year's world champ, that ain't enough. Why do you think he'll be in any event there?
USA gets one athlete in each event as an auto-entry for hosting. Grant basically alluded that the directors at pre were interested in him for this if he did well at Zurich in his post-race interview. Grant was the highest finishing American in a Diamond league distance race this year, also the most recent one, so why wouldn’t they choose him? Woody dropped out of the Zurich race + doesn’t have as many points as Grant.
Also if you did your research, Grant is currently 12th. Klecker is 11th but shut down his season so that makes Grant 11th and he needs 1 scratch. Kiplimo and Cheptegi are in the top 10 and were both injured in August so at least one of them will probably scratch and then Grant is in.
So I’d say he’s in either way by the looks of it. If he gets in via points, I assume woody will be the autoqual otherwise it will be Nur? Although he hasn’t run a Diamond league? But no other American has points other than kleck, fish and Kincaid

Fisher kind of was jogging the first part of the race. Then it picked up and with a mile to go. When he decided to go around the pacer he put it down on he rest of the field by running 2:24 last kilometre.
Reading some of the other posts, I can’t understand the negativity. it’s not a lot, but it is just silly. Other countries would love to have a guy like Grant Fisher running for them and representing them. He is a classy guy.

It is amazing how stupid almost all of you are. I say Grant will never medal and it is downvoted 44-3. Like you people are idiots. Grant will never medal and his 7:33 is Joshua Cheptegei’s 5000m WR pace. Having said that, Grant is a great US distance runner, but he is a bit more of a time trial specialist than a great racer.

He is 12th in the final diamond league 5000m standings with 6 points from his third place finish in Zurich. Cheptegei and Kiplimo are ahead of him in the standings so he should be at least 10th of people who could run since they have both ended their seasons. Klecker is 11th in the standings so he can likely run it too.
