When Klaver caught up to the Brit and Jamaican on her leg the physical disparity was just incredible, she's one of the more fascinating track athletes I've seen.
I'm not sure fascinating is the word you were looking for.
I think you've never been to the Netherlands. Tallest women in the world who take a bike instead of a car. Women like Schippers or Klaver are no exception. But hey.. let's make them suspicious without any proof.

I have been to the Netherlands. It isn't height that I was referring to.

Then what? Muscles? She is no more muscled than many a sprinter. And in fact, if you see her in real life (I have) she is nowhere near as 'big' in terms of muscles as she looks on TV or in pictures. In fact, she is slender, just very conditioned.
If you actually followed her career closely as I have - and I mean since she was a junior, not these last couple of years - you will know that she has always been more powerfully built than many of her competitors, and weight training has always been her favourite work out. She loves the gym. And she is extremely good at it, her strength & co-ordination for some of the more complex moves is superb.

She and Schippers are both muscled - but then virtually all sprinters are now - and it isn't just the gym that does it. But what I find questionable is when women get serious muscle in the shoulders and arms - especially if they are otherwise slim. Only steroids can do that. She and Schippers are pretty big in that department. By contrast, Bol - who is the same height - has nothing like that shoulder and arm size. It isn't necessarily definitive of doping but given the nature of the sport I wouldn't be surprised.

Yet this trollish forum poster will not make similar accusations against Tuohy, who has an even more ridiculous build for her event, while he tries to shame her competition.

In fact Klaver was a 200 runner first that moved up to the 400. She has an athletic build, plus her progression at 400 isn't anything that suggests steroids. She's 25 and is just breaking 50 within the last year. And if you see her in street gear she's simply looks like a very fit woman.

No that is Astro - but these two (amongst others) have a similar cynical agenda. I prefer to let the official doping agencies monitor the guilt of athletes (and they sometimes make mistakes) just as with most justice systems. But these guys seem to know better, although I don't know why? I guess they just find it easier to accuse others with no actual proof than actually get involved in the sport in some concrete way (like bothering to coach athletes to a high level). Perhaps if they were more involved rather than casting aspersions from their basements, they might have a different perspective. But then anyone who doesn't see it their way is just a doping apologist.

"Only steroids can give women serious muscles in the shoulders and arms"?? I've never heard of such (misogynistic) nonsense in my life LOL. What, do steroids magically target particular body parts and proportionately increases the shoulders & arms?
Do not compare Klaver - who has been weightlifting since she was a junior - to Bol, who has not. Bol only started doing basic moves like cleans when she moved to the Meuwly group; Klaver was doing them years before. In fact, she is the Queen of Cleans! Klaver has always been in athletics (as a 100/200 sprinter) whereas Bol did judo and speedskating in her youth.
And Schippers & Klaver actually have quite different body types; Schippers, whilst muscular, is more 'fleshy' and 'heavier' with a more rectangular body. Klaver is more 'conditioned' and 'athletic' and nearly 2 inches taller than Schippers.

YouTube videos of Klaver. She does power and hang cleans mostly, it's the best movement to develop power and fast twitch muscles in both the upper and lower body. The best part of it is you can't clean real heavy weight like you can with bench press or squats so you don't gain as much size. It's an athletic movement and her physique reflects that.
Klaver is 6'0" like Valarie Allman and the same build. Allman is 155 lbs. This also happens to be my own height and weight, so ideal human athletic specimens :-D
It's too bad Schippers didn't wise up and switch to the 400 a couple of years ago. That would be a formidable relay if she could produce 50 or thereabouts. Instead the Dutch are always relying on Bol rallies, even on European level.
They won't be a gold medal threat in Paris with legs like 51.76 from Saalberg and 51.39 from Peeters. There are promising youngsters but they are years away. The only ones who might be ready by Paris are Zoe Sedney with another year of 400 training, and Myrte van der Schoot who won bronze in European U20. She is very similar to Peeters.
Schippers is kidding herself if she thinks short sprint glory will return. Never rely on outliers like Fraser-Pryce and Ta Lou in their mid 30s.
The other variable obviously is the exhausting 400 training routine. Bol and Klaver post videos all the time. Schippers likely doesn't want any part of that.

Peeters set PB's in the flat and hurdles this year, 51.73 out of the blocks so I think she shows potential better than the 51.39 leg she ran.
But realistically if the US has Britton, Mu and Levrone on the relay the Dutch aren't going to win gold anyhow. They would need 3:17 to challenge.

While I don't think Klaver looks more likely a doper than any other female sprinter, the answer to this question is yes. Steroids do particularly effect the shoulders, including in men. They have more androgen receptors, something like that, is why.
I don't mind the shoulders because mine are still bigger. Klaver has an athletic but feminine physique, not like bodybuilders. Blows everyone away, this is near unanimous

I betcha that's an old weight stat from Allman. Probably high school old. She looks like she's a 170 or 175-pounder these days. Klaver is more slender. She might be 155-160.

On paper the US should be way ahead of everybody, but strange things can happen!
Peeters only started training with the Meuwly group this year, so expect further improvements from her. On top of that, as Awsi Dooger mentions, there is Zoe Sedney who has run 52.02 (& a 51.5 relay leg) in her very first season at 400m. She will be faster after another winters training.
It's a bit too soon, but 19 yr old 6-footer Britt de Blauuw improved by over 3 secs this year and will be one to watch in the future. Also, (and another huge woman..) 200m runner Tasa Jiya has joked she may become a 200/400 runner in future, rather than 100/200 runner. A starting line up of Bol, Klaver & Jiya, all 6 footers, would be quite physically intimidating for some of the other teams!
The timetable for Paris allows Mu to run the 4x4 this time, whereas it didn't in Budapest. However, it is very questionable still, as the w4x4 heats are on the morning on the w400m individual final, which is later in the evening. Then the 4x4 final is the next day. Why on earth would they have the 4x4 hts the same day as the 400 final? Another absurd decision.
The only positive is that the mixed 4x4 is a bit more generous, on days 2 & 3, before the individual 400h starts on day 5 and the flat 400 on day 5. But the flat 400 should really all be shifted earlier one day, so that it's over before the 4x4 starts.
