I think I understand why most of you other posters are so sure of Narve’s guilt, and why you are so superficial. -I think you are really bad in tolerating own insecurities (and of course a so unprecedented progress he has had fills us with insecurity), whereas I think life really is complex and unpredictable. I can live with this uncertainty; I think you cannot.

Your arguments (from all of you) are shallow, and can be summed up as: “This is too good to be true.” But how can you know that, how can you know the limits: Was Bolt too good, Herbert Elliott, Peter Snell; is Jakob an impossibility..?

Some of you try to evaluate some details you have heard of from Narve’s progress. But you conclude before you have gone a tenth of the way necessary for each detail (and the amount of details you have is far less than I got, and even I don’t know that much, and of course not enough), and your will to balance pros and cons seems very poor. -I think most of you feel the progress is too big for a need to really investigate and analyse. I think you jump to avoid your own uncertainty and confusion. This is what I meant when I wrote in another thread that there’s so much (self) deception and delusion on LRC…

Narve Gilje Nordås has been part of the training group called Team Ingebrigtsen, together with Jakob, Filip, Henrik and Per Svela. He came to my attention when he ran 3000, the last 1000 at European Indoors at 2:22.56. He ended up as number five. Spring 2021.

When he ran his 3:36 last year in May he was still concentrating his efforts on 5000. That was in a race when he used his normal tactics; coming from behind. He ran 1500 twice in 2022. Won both times. In 2022 he thought he was capable of running 3:33-34. And at that time Gjert became his peronal trainer; his and Per Svelas.

Don't need to overcomplicate things - give it two more years means "you still might have a shot at making Paris so might as well hang round to see if you can make that team. Then you can say for the rest of your life that you're an Olympian."

It is very common for athletes to stick around and try "one more Olympics."

It isn't crazy that a guy who is 3:36 and 13:15 at 23 could be good enough to be an Olympian at 25.

Agreed with other posters, is hard to not by skeptical of the progression, but Thoughtsleader mate own it - you can't say "this guy's progression and story is a 1 for 1 match to a banned doper" and then back pedal.

What is incorrect about what anyone has said? Running 3:33-34 means you are at around the level he was at 5,000. You’re acting like he has only improved at 1500 when the change is at 5,000 as well, clear as day. Nobody will be surprised when he runs 12:50 next year, let’s be real. As JWH insinuated correctly and you backed up, Gjert took much more of an interest in him after coaching him more remotely and there is a huge improvement. That is a lot to be explained just by more face-time.

Then you need to go to the politics and conspiracy-theory threads for those. Runners are quite informed and many are sceptical. But patriotic fervour can get in the way of that.

I just wrote what was incorrect. 5000? He did not improve at 5000 from -21 to -22. Still 13:15. Yes, and then we have the progress from may -22 to this year: 3:35 - 3.34 - 3.32 - 3.29 (first time he ran in a field with high speed). I also think he might get close to 12:50 next year. He is worth approx. 12:55 this year. And may well run sub 3:28.5 later this year. So what? Other than mechanical reasoning. No other empirical evidence than his times. And from there this strange reasoning of yours. But sure you are free to speculate. But that's all you got: your own personal specultations. Though not a very credible hypothesis; not even a null hypothesis.
