Gjert Ingebrigtsens latest Instagram post "OOPS I DID IT AGAIN"

Nuguse was young and killing himself academically. He also was in slow college races which indicated greater fitness than the raw time (soloing a 3:34, running 3:35 with a 1:49 last 800). He took running as a full-time job with OAC, moved to altitude, got healthy and has basically been on fire since. Nordas on the other hand has seemingly been training at a professional level for years and the altitude is the only main difference seemingly. And he obviously is a bit of an odd guy thinking that he has no talent and should be running half marathons. At the very least his improvement is bizarre - he is far from the only 24-year-old who has had multiple years of good training.

its been pointed out over and over that Nordas hadn't committed to the 1500 before this year. two attempts last year. NONE the year before.

I really think he hits at least 3:33 if he commits to it last year. At least.

When you are so completely confused about the basics, it's hard to take the rest of what you say seriously.

There's like ten guys that has lowered their PBs five seconds the last two years (and it's pretty much the same on the women's side) so I say it's either the shoes or that global warming have prolonged the summer season all over the world.

It might be that you should be looking at those that HAVEN'T lowered their to see what they AREN'T doing - at lot of sponsorship is going away there over the next few months as we're heading into an Olympic championship year when this one is over.

Agree with this. ‘The Ingebritsens’ series really highlighted a few things here. Seems like a lot of people condemned Gjert for being ‘controlling’. So what..man gave them everything he has, and more..So, a man now gets lambasted for being a typical alpha who only wants the best for his kids and family. Gjert is centrally a kind person and a loving father.
Jakob is talented but lacking in empathy for his father. Very interesting that his father called Jakob out a number of times for making things up. Jakob (everyone) needs that - honest feedback when he’s being a little brat. Not fawning people.
Also, I found the constant snide remarks from his girlfriend towards his family really appalling (particularly Gjert..she obviously considers herself a ‘cut above’) really appalling. Even at 16-17 years of age, that girl was a very entitled and awful little princess who thought she was better than pretty much everyone else. Incredibly entitled (for what reason? She’s not the most beautiful girl who ever existed..no other talents of note.). Jakob is young, but he shouldn’t let the family get treated like that. She’s absolutely awful, but the fool is marrying her.
Seems like everyone is pointing at the man - Gjert - who gave up his entire life for his kids and made them what they are.. he’s the ‘baddie’.. So, he’s eccentric and controlling..so what? It’s exactly what made them what they are. None of them would be anywhere without Gjert. Now they’ve made it, they dump him like a hot potato. Poor b@strd is sitting outside the stands, not even allowed in. It’s just humiliating after everything he’s done for them.

All those speculations. Without empirical evidence. People here trust their own abstract reasoning. Example: "It is suspicious to me". What does that tell? Nothing. Except something about the persom who writes it. Some ought to get their money back if they some time in the past have attended a course in philosophy of science/epistemology/logic etc. They put their trust even in facts which is not facts. Can't even spell the names right. Was Nordas capable of running much faster than 3:36 last year? What was the conditions when he ran? Was he at all concentrated on running 1500? But let's say that 3:36 was the best he could run that year. And let's say he runs 3:28 this year. Is it suspicious regarding doping? It is neither suspicious or not suspicious.

This is beyond the creepiest thing I've read here. Who are you to just claim all these things about Jakob's spouse and his relationship with his father. Holy crap the amount of entitlement here is crazy...

I say it again, it´s all about social control. In a country where nobody outside Track and field cares when someone is busted, you could take the risk and only be abolished concerning sports......but in Norway you would be lifelong persona non grata in the whole civil society.....
Jakob, Karsten are as big as the Norweigan king. Too much to lose. And also, only one drug cheat in Norweigan track in 20 years. It´s a country on true society inherit christian values, not "I swear to god" cliches.

Holy crap..’creepy’ is being interested in arguably the biggest story in track and field? Suggest you get off these boards if not interested..and you commented and read down the thread too. So, ‘creepy’ is you..

To answer your question more directly: We’ve got eyes and there was a huge series about them. It went for years. Did you miss it? They’re the biggest family in Track and Field. ‘Entitled’ are the brats treating their dad *in public* like this. The other boys have nice wives..Jakob’s girlfriend is a vacuous entitled thing. Losing her Looks already (so young..) and becoming a chubster too. She was always making these Awful little snide comments that were directed towards Gjert and Jakobs family. Yes, it was very noticeable if you’re a decent person. Jakob is nothing less than p*say whipped by the first gf he’s ever had. sad..

Gjert’s a good man, a good father and a brilliant coach. Doesn’t deserve this current treatment. If you watched the series you’d see how he worked his whole life to give his family of *7* children everything.

Rule no.1 ‘Respect your father’. Millions of us would have killed to have a father like Gjert. Now, he’s chucked out in to the back of the stadium (one of the best coaches who ever lived) because his bratty son * might* have to lay eyes on him..it’s humiliating for him..worse, the adults in the room are going along with it. Because the spoilt little golden boy might experience a little discomfort. Fyi: It’s called ‘guilt’ for treating your father like shirt.
I hope Gjert manages to make it back up with his family. They should be begging his forgiveness at that point. I’m sure nothing this man supposedly did warrants such public humiliation by his own darned family.

And apologies for the remarks about the gf’s looks. This I shouldn’t have done. However, her awful remarks about Gjert and family were way out of line. I find her to be a horrible person as a result. Jakob thinks he’s got the cream. He’s got the crud in my opinion. She’s just a shocker with her disrespect.
