You know there are other countries outside of America, right?
Your pitch is a Netflix series that follows 3 American teams (1 of which is barely elite) and a few token "rest of world" individuals.

The US bias of the OP is unhinged.
Being realistic, if you're picking an American team its OAC given that they're
- a team with personalities (ironically a lot of those aren't American)
- coach with a huge history in the sport
- backed by a brand making big moves to improve the sport and bring more focus and attention to all levels
Then expanding out you're probably going to get:
- NN/something related to Jos Hermanns, so a real mix of the best East Africans and some of the Dutch runners (Abdi Nageeye, Siffan Hassan)
- A British group - Keely or Muir & Reekie spring to mind (remember where Seb Coe is from, what events he ran)
- Mondo
- Jakob if he wants (might prefer NOK to produce something he has more control of instead)
- Femke Bol
- Yaroslava Mahuchikh/Yuliya Levchenko
- Ryan Crouser
- Wayde van Niekerke
Why would Mondo or Femke Bol, etc. be in a distance running documentary?
Pay attention to the title and description of the thread.
One of the best distance running documentary film I've seen with real runners was "UNBREAKABLE: The Western States 100." It was about the 4 best Ultra Runners in the world all racing the most prestigious race and finding out who was the best in the world! Worth the watch. It got into each runners background, skipped through 100 miles without having it drag out and was compelling. This could be a template for a good series or make a montage of the best distance runners from each decade and match-ups through the years.
I need a documentary about me. I'm doping and a nation champion, never will be caught.
You could do a Hard Knocks version for distance running teams world wide or Hard Knocks in the Diamond League following distance runners through the season and at the races
