Hoping that Barnett does well in Tokyo & that Frias has a good season.
NC State was also recently in Park City. I wonder how many other teams do these camps at altitude and how long they are? A week at altitude doesn't do a lot in terms of physiology adaptations and any that are made are quickly reversed when coming back down in elevation. My guess is that it is done primarily because these places, Park City, Flagstaff, etc, are great places to train. BYU, NAU and some others are lucky in that regard.
I was wondering why Oregon had their B team at UVU's season opener on 8/29. Being in Park City for pre-season camp is the answer. Frias was not in the race.
She did run 4:34 (mile), 9:01 (3k), and 15:56 (5k) before injury/surgery. If she can be back at this level this fall could be a great mid to back end addition to the title contending Oregon team.
