It was 100 freaking degrees in Eugene and now relatively pleasant in Budapest. Track is a 3rd tier minor league sport in America, perhaps 2nd tier in Eugene.
Who should logically have the better attendance? BUDAPEST, And well deserved. Their country is run by a Fascist Autocrat and the people deserve some relief for a couple weeks.
Time to dump Eugene for major track events. If you look at an 3/4 empty stadium for the world championship and this years use trials. The real attendance is what matters. Budapest as I watch today at 9:00pm Budapest time has a full house with over 34,000 in actual attendance. Have big meets east of the Mississippi or in California and we will do much better. Eugene is an overhyped and disastrous location for all big USA meets
