I do not believe any of the more serious rumours against Gjert, if there were any truth to those he would be persona non grata and booked for a court date, he would not be coaching Nordås .

I believe the simpler explanation that Gjert couldn’t relate to his boys as the grown men they are, couldn’t treat them as adults. There is this scene in Team Ingebrigsten that has always stuck with me where Filip tries to start a small dialogue about his training plan and Gjert just shouts him down like his son is a totally worthless nobody. Second and related issue must have been Gjerts incessant neuroticism. Gjert is always super nervous, not able to watch his boys competing, and obsessing about eating and girlfriends. One cannot at once claim to be an absolute authoritative figure concerning every part of the athletes training and lives and at the same time be so nervous and insecure and easily triggered.

Noboby needs a coach in the stands for the 1500. Only field eventers need that. Norve will be fine.

The issue for me does regard the rumors. I don't think the things were helped when a health issue was used as the initial excuse as why he wasn't coaching as people realize he's healthy now and what not. I I had been advising them, I would have told them to be more honest and said something like, "We've had a falling out with our father. He will no longer be coaching us. It's a private family matter and we won't talk about it - period."

Hold on...I thought he wasnt coaching them anymore? If not, why is this even a controversy? If he's not a coach why would he have credentials?

Most people understood, or read between the lines, that Gjert didn't have mumps, the flu or heart problems, but had a mental reaction after being fired by his own family. The press release didn't mention that he would return at a later time, and we also read that Ingrid had quit athletics. After the first press release, both Henrik and Jakob have been clear that it's a conflict between them.

We also saw the same discussion under the european championship last year, when Gjert didn’t get credentials as a trainer for Nordås.

But even if there was a conflict between Gjert and his sons, the question is: why didn't he get credentials as a trainer for Nordås? What is the connection between the two events?
