I always think of Aly Raisman's statement about Larry Nassar and when she said: "if just one adult listened...this tragedy never would have happened" Where are the adults in Addy's life? Why aren't they doing right by her?
You don't fully understand the situation. Wiley didn't have a good upbringing. She had a not very good father who was mostly absent, and a not very good mother. The Johnsons were the adults that "rescued" Wiley from her not very good parents. The Johnsons ARE a step up for her.
Wiley's situation is a totally different situation from Larry Nassar and the gymnasts. The gymnasts wanted someone to help them deal with Larry Nassar. Wiley does NOT want someone to help her with the Johnsons.
You think that Wiley needs to move away from the Johnsons. But Wiley is happy where she is, what she is doing, and who she is doing it with.
And Wiley is an adult, so she is entitled to make her own decisions, whether you agree with her decisions or not.
You cannot read. Even the vote manipulation is pathetic. Wiley was a good national level high school runner, the type that can compete at Brooks or NB year after year, no more or less. Every class has them year after year. It was only when she entered the full Johnson experience as a senior in that weird 1600m that she emerged out of nowhere as the thread was entitled. Look, no one is buying it and Wiley made herself radioactive. Hope it is worth it.
Here’s the thing. Your description above fits Tuohy, as well. You act as if Tuohy is some generational talent, but she’s not. She wasn’t even the best female high school runner in NY, let alone the country. Mu graduated the same year as Tuohy. Mu has an Olympic Gold. Time to accept that Tuohy never was and never will be the runner you think she is.
I do not know who the unregistered person or persons are who constantly cheerlead Wiley. Some are clearly insider posts, probably one of the Johnsons. Some are the usual message board yahoos who never met a doper they would not obfuscate for.
But I have to say that the adults around Wiley utterly failed her. No one in this sport thinks she is clean. No one is telling her what type of leper she has made herself by doping in college in such an obvious manner and not distancing herself from the scandal. Has she actually been told that saying " but I haven't failed a test, I'm clean" has the slightest credibility? Like we don't know how weak and laughable that is? Maybe she gets away with it given our mickey mouse antidoping system. Maybe not. But she will not outrun this scandal and the fact that she is perceived fairly as a fraud.
Oh look. The "downvotes". When is the autodelete coming? Lol.

I must fall under the “usual message board yahoo” category 🥳

LOL
Put the doping stuff to the side for a minute and remember:
Nick Johnson admitted to pretending to be a coach at the University of Oregon so he could bring a minor across state lines.
A step up for her? Rescued her? You obviously don't know the whole story and have no idea what you're talking about. And if you do know the whole story and stick by your comment, you live a very dark and destructive life.
A grown man attacking a 19 year old girl mercilessly and continuously. She is awesomely talented and being treated like a pariah for having been born in the wrong town for you lot.
Yep. That's it. You got me. That is the only problem. LOLLLL. My goodness, we are talking doping in high school and college and being involved in one hell of a major scandal. Nothing to see here.

Yes, Nick Johnson and Wiley were in cahoots to trick Wiley's mom. Wiley herself was part of that plan. You conveniently left off that part.
In any case, Wiley is now 19 year old, which makes her an adult. And as an adult she is free to associate, or not associate, with anyone she chooses.
Some of you want to make Wiley's decisions for her. She doesn't want you to do that. Not sure why that is so hard from some of you to understand.
One of the most unhinged things you've posted. A few posts above you someone called the Johnsons a "step up", and this might have surpassed that comment.
She was a child. A trusted adult took advantage. I disagree with a lot of her decisions as a (young) adult. You could be correct about the doping. But to say she's NOT a victim? Vile.
A step up for her? Rescued her? You obviously don't know the whole story and have no idea what you're talking about.
I do know the whole story. I also know that Wiley is an adult. And she thinks that the Johnsons are a step up for her, so it's none of your business.
Do you run all of your life decisions by Wiley for her approval? No, you don't. Why not? Because it's none of Wiley's business what you decide to do or not do. Just like it's none of your business what Wiley decides to do or not do.

She is not being offered endorsement money/shoe contract money/NIL money because she continues to associate with the Johnsons. Great decisions all around.
1. Who Wiley is friends with. Wiley is an adult. If Wiley wants to be friends with the Johnsons that is no one else's business. I'm stunned that so many posters think that they have the right to tell other people who they can be friends with.
2. If Wiley is using PEDs. Obviously she shouldn't be doing that. And hopefully she isn't. If she is, I believe she will eventually get caught at some point. In my opinion, Wiley and the Johnsons aren't savvy enough to dope for the next 10 years and never slip up. So I believe that the truth will eventually come out. And if Wiley happens to be so talented that she is running these fast times without PEDs, then good for her. Right now I'm not sure one way or the other if she is using PEDs or not.
