Not fond of that first 200m pacing job by Sowinski…looked like he went out in almost 14 seconds.
It certainly looked that way based on the bunching and the way the announcers were talking. He was right next to the lights the whole time though…
None of these guys are winning against Jakob 😂
Nordas thrashing haters in the post race interview. "Those who said that the 3:29 was a one-off, here you f*cking go".
Didn't like the shoulder on McSweyn, but accidents can happen. One occasion is not a trend, so we'll see.
Goose seems like US only medal threat tbh.
Looked like Hocker had to move way outside early to avoid contact.

It was actually a really good run from Hocker, considering he didn't run a single step on the rail. He was either outside of lane 1, or lane 2 for the entire race.
That's why it was a horrible race by Hocker ("ran either outside of lane 1, or lane 2 for the entire race")
Whole field runs sub 333 and people complain about the pacing. SMH
A bit disappointing from Hocker for me, although that might be more because of unrealistic expectations.
Positive take would be he still ran 332.1. Possible excuses: he had to suddenly move out to lane 3 on the second lap when a few guys almost went down, and it looked like he almost gave up a bit in the final 20m which is hard not to do when you are in 13th place.
I know those races weren't as quick in 2021 but it seems like Hocker doesn't quite have the kick he had that year.
Onwards!
Who is the last American to win a DL 1500?

He faded fairly significantly down the stretch. His famed kick is great for the US, ordinary vs the world.

disappointing placing, but when you consider the time and his other results so far this season, it's a very positive run
I already beat on Nuguse some days ago, and when I told that there will be no come back of Cheruiyot I was downvoted by some.
Katir && Neguse the greater challengers of Jakob (unless there is injury somewhere).

Good showing by Nuguse. Where was Olli? I thought he was scheduled.
I think he’s a little injured. Must have been a late scratch. Nice run by Yared and great time considering the early pacing. Hocker was in the back at the end, but he is getting stronger and stronger, btw. Not sure he’ll be fully ready in a month, but I things are on the upswing for him.

A kid like Stonier running that time and taking 5th at a diamond league in that time is a huge wake up call for everyone thinking you can still wait in the weeds in a men’s 1500.
if you show up, you better be ready. Hate Josh Kerr all you want, but his racing schedule/mentality is now mandatory.

Sure, sure.
i wonder if nordas has similar gene disorder to ingebrigtsens which causes high blood count ;)
I'm surprised to see Timothy C. finish in 8th. Disappointing for the former world champion.

It was a messy, bunched race. A lot of the issue seemed to be from an overly steady first 100. McSweyn did Sowinski a huge favor by acting as de facto second pacer.
