I use forerunner 35 like cheptegi and bekele. Never had an issue recording my 16 minute 5ks accurately (on 25-30 miles a week... all of which have beautifully smooth GPS lines for my strata perusal, btw).
I tried a Coros after always using Garmin just to see if it really was worth the hype but I ended up just missing my Garmin so I switched back (with no regrets). Also, for some reason I really didn’t like how the Coros wouldn’t constantly show the seconds of the time of day unless I moved my wrist or had the backlight on. Not a major flaw but it bugged me like crazy lol
It is interesting that the folks whose very livelihood depends on optimizing every aspect of their training and racing are okay using whatever brand is willing to pay the most to sponsor them. Amateurs that are likely not even in contention for age group podiums at their local 5K, on the other hand, will argue and obsess over the minutest details.

I bought my COROS pace 2 in September ‘22 after using various garmin watches for about nine years. I’ve found it to be more accurate with distance/pace, it gives real time pace updates unlike garmin, gets GPS faster, and is much lighter. For $200, it does everything I need it to. More and more of my teammates are switching over because the affordable garmin watches don’t get the job done, and the better ones are much more expensive and heavier.

I’m guessing you work for Garmin then? I’m about to make the switch to Coros. My most recent Garmin was way overpriced for the crappy battery life and the insane amount of time it takes to get a signal every time I start a run.
There is no information backing this up except for Chinese smartwatch site that's just speculating about it. Last year, the Coros Facebook group was aware that the Apex 2 was coming out. It's not the case this year and they've even pushed new features in the Pace 2 like the basic mapping function.
Pace 2 is definitely the most bang for your buck GPS watch out there. However, Coros has some quality control issues and my watch got recalled after two years. They gave me a new one so at least their customer support is quite helpful.
However, their latest releases like the Vertix 2, Apex 2, and POD 2 fell off the mark. I would probably just get a 265/965 rather than an Apex 2/Apex 2 Pro if my current watch dies. Their GPS tracking is poor even with dual-band to the point that they need to release the POD 2 to supposedly make things better.
Sorry you bought a Coros because a running influencer peddled them on Instagram. But my goodness, when comparing to the Fenix series or even the inexpensive forerunner models, Coros feels like it came straight out of a Fruity Pebbles cereal box.

The only good thing was the auto detection of track laps which really made it very accurate on the track, but in every otherway it wad inferior.
I know elite athletes who still use the forerunner 15. that thing was built to last a nuclear war. nuff said.
Extra data points were built into these watches for people who actually know how to read them. Stop getting off on the fact your new fangled watch thinks you have a 79 V02 max after running a 6:23 mile. You're taking yourself way too seriously.
I’ve had my 735 Garmin for 6 years - bought on a sale for like $230. Run almost every day. Legit works like I just took it out of the box. It’s incredible.
I've had the Apex Pro for a little over 3 years now. The greatest improvement I noticed over Garmin was accuracy, weight and battery life. It's got just as sleek of a look as a Fenix without having to wear a brick on your wrist. It connects a lot more quickly to satellites than what I remember my Garmin doing, and it seems to hold a much more steady and accurate read on distance. When I had Garmin it would jump like 50 meters to hit the same distance from run to run. Maybe Garmin has improved over the last 3 years but I don't know. If you're using a watch for your V02 metrics you're an idiot so to even take that into consideration would be silly in this conversation.

Another beautiful morning run of 5 miles @ 5:40 pace on my economical forerunner 35. Thats my long run for the week done.
let me tell you one thing. I bought Coros in Summer 2020, a year later i got a warning that my perfectly working watch is included in recall. okay, I fill out form, 2 months later I have 2 perfectly fine watches at the cost of 1. Name one company that will do that

Forerunner 15? The Forerunner 10 was a dream!
- Great display.
- All the functions a real runners needs: measures your runs, saves your splits.
- Very accurate; I have no idea what all of these people are saying about inaccurate Garmins.
- Did take awhile to acquire GPS if you travelled or drove to a new place for a run. Great opportunity to tend to a good warmup!
- Ugly as heck, so you're not tempted to wear your running watch to elsewhere like a loser.
I only upgraded because my wife got me the 235 as a present. Sometimes I open the drawer where my FR10 is sitting and just look at it, smiling.
Sounds like you're a Garmin spokesperson. My coros works far better than any watch I've had, and that's a fact.

Two years and a half after launching the Coros Pace 2, Coros may start thinking of releasing the Coros Pace 3 in August 2023. The wearable is a sporty smartwatc
