A team like BTC should have a person in charge of PR and run a social media website to give updates on their athletes. So many of us are interested in what runners status and race schedule are. There is really no good reason to hide these details from us.
Who are you to decide what other people should do? I think you should stop posting. Will you?
I think what ESPN (the poster, not the network) is saying, is that "press conferences and/or social media are a normal expectation for professional athletes and teams in the modern era; adhere to those norms." That is not asking too much.
"We" decide all the time what others should and should not do. People either stick to those decisions or are deemed crazy, weird, or anti-social. That is the whole foundation of social and cultural norms and behaviors.
All we are asking is that BTC, the biggest team in the US right now, please follow the best practices and norms of professional sports. It would be better that way for our sport in general.

It's absolutely asking too much, and the fact that you feel entitled to it is extremely bizarre. If you want something you should pay for it, not whine about it.
Wow, what triggered you today? All these people are just asking that an athlete communicates with the fans, something that is literally required from athletes of other sports, and you offer nothing of substance in the conversation. How is basic communication asking for too much? These athletes literally would make nothing without the fans

Write a letter to his sponsor! Demand to know where he is and threaten to buy their competitor's shoes until he speaks up.
Imagine if Lebron didn't play for months, came back scored 5 points, and then disappeared again with no updates.
The very least fans can deserve updates and transparency from athletes. But this lack of professionalism is one example why track isn't a real professional sport.
Your sense of entitlement is ridiculous. Lebron wouldn't owe anyone an explanation. Since, in your words "track isn't a real professional sport" Jager sure as hell doesn't owe anyone an explanation.
Have never posted before but had to post to tell you how big of a clown you are for this reply. Jager =/= Lebron. Always wondered how people with an IQ of room temperature get on in life.

The NBA requires players speak to the media and have protocols for injured players and providing updates to the media. They agree to these rules in return for a paycheck.
Call me entitled but fans don't care about a sport when they know nothing about athletes they want to support.
Yeah, but we need to cut Jager some slack.
Lebron makes 90 million a year while Jager makes like $40,000 a year.
Imagine a whole message board is wondering where you are or if you retired just because you missed a few shifts as MacDonalds.
People know who LeBron James is noboidy knows who Evan Jager is outside of the running world. Let's be honest more people would know who Espen Jostad who won the WSOP Main Event is before they knew Evan Jager or even Mo Farah outside of the running world.

100% True most people can careless about running. People are into big ticket items as noted in this post if your in Vegas during the WSOP watching some of the events is mind boggling especially when you realize what the buy-ins are or even what the people are playing for prize wise.
