The Silhouettes were formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1956, at first using the name The Thunderbirds. Their classic hit "Get A Job" - originally the B...
Anyway, he said he doesn’t care about the time and that this was about ‘fun’. Then be backtracked and said he wanted to run a pb. Where does this then place him mentally because he has a habit of getting derailed by his head when he doesn’t perform up to whatever standard he set himself and it then sets him back 6 months to a year.
He has enough speed to make a killing in whatever local road scene he is a part of. That would be more interesting.

Define a killing? Do you get prize money at ParkRun in Seattle?
why do posters like to pick on this guy so much? It's just a random guy and it's not like 1:52 is a bad time for 99.99% of the human population. Most people who put themselves out there as a runner know that their chance of making it pro are slim to none. Why do you have to make that reality worse by picking a random also-ran to bully? Is it because you had the same dream as him but never even tried? Or is it some other reason, genuinely curious.
The answer to that question is bitterness and jealousy. Spencer is a totally harmless guy.
my fav thing about these replies is how people will reference his recent videos and go through the effort of logging his times down for each year just to call him bad

Had it not been for the Covid year when we devoured everything possible on YouTube TAS wouldn't have gained any traction. Now he's just Every Failed Runner rolled up into one.
Race roads until it's gone, Spencer. The cush East Coast job is waiting.
There used to be a bunch of events all over the midwest and southeast where you could snag a few hundred to a couple thousand dollars. They may have all dried up. I don't even think the Triple Crown Series in Louisville offers prize money anymore.

You're eternally stuck in the year 2004, runningart. Prize money is virtually gone now, unless you're truly elite.
great work by her! Don’t think TAS is coming 2nd at Boston any time soon and he has no job so apologies but your statement has gone over my head.
you dont remember a couple videos ago when he suddenly announced he could run sub2:20 right now? Does that not count?
It sounds like his whole identity is based around his sub-elite running exploits. I’d be concerned for where he goes to find meaning after his running days.

I like how you always sign your first name as if most people know who you are. Maybe letsrun needs a profile customization option if someone would be interested.

There are certainly many events which you could snag a couple hundred dollars to even a couple thousand. The problem is those events are not in most people’s backyards.
I'm surprised nobody does this any more, the 'road whore' thing. Not at all the same thing but the rodeo circuit is full of traveling cowboys, driving fuel-efficient cars from town to town trying to make more money than they spend until it runs out.

It is just what I have always done here since LR began. So......23+ years now?
