Overhand as in your hand has to be above your body.
Throwing more sidearm goes farther but was deemed too dangerous cause a throw can go wild.
Actually the farthest throws with a javelin are when it's thrown when a person is spinning around like they do when throwing a discus.
But that technique was banned because a throw could go into the stands and a net wouldn't stop a javelin like it would stop a discus.
Actually a sidearm jav still goes farther than overhead, spinning or not. And sidearm is not legal, spinning or not.
You pretty much repeated what I wrote, but with the false insinuation that only spinning sidearms were banned. Are you one of the 19 triggered idiots who thought they could vote me wrong? Looks like your vote didn't count.
Maybe he will proclaim just how dirty track currently is .
What have two approx 22.50 m throws already in event this year
when it would be around max throw for year , 5 years ago.
Look at that meet in Zambia yesterday , getting fast sprinters from obscure countries never used to there
what a Kenyan women running low 50 for 400 m when never much interest before.
all these teenage sprinters much faster than ones 5 years ago .
You know that , something is definitely up with new dope in track since 2019 -2020.
These two new peptides , one being Mots-c for endurance and the other for speed /power.
they have totally taken over track
in most of events ,
one of them being shot putt
TraQanon chimes in. The shot putters are the same names from 5 years ago. So now they just started doping I guess?
The meet was in Botswana. The sprinter was from Zambia.
Are you saying there’s never been interest for Kenyan sprinters? News to their 4x400 teams of the past and 400 hurdlers. Yes it is a development that a Kenyan woman is a top sprinter, but these things take place over time.
The teen sprinters globally all on your mysterious peptide from Knighton to Shawnti Jackson to Brahe-Peterson to Asinga to Tebogo I guess.
He's talking about Mary Moraa. Little does he know she started off as a sprinter and won the 400m silver medal at the world U-18s in 2017. Many of the Kenyans people accuse of coming out of "nowhere" usually have a documented track record in local junior ranks.
Its cute watching LETSRUN talk about events that involve horsepower lol. stick to running shoes! Sidearm? forget it being dangerous and inaccurate throwing a jav sideways will end your season and possibly your career. It is not a baseball, or a football. It is exponentially harder to throw than any of those things.
As far as the comment about relevant things to throw lol. Nothing about any distance event is relative to the average person accept the shoes these races sell. Relevant lol, tis to laugh.
I've listened to his explanation and it really does seem like he's been treated unfairly. And I'm not sure that new retroactive rule could hold water.
I saw his video was 15mins long. Can you give me a summary of what he said?
Ponzio's phone stopped working around Millrose. he had to get a new one but it didn't sync properly and he lost all his contacts. Because his phone was dead he couldn't update the ADAMS portal with his whereabouts. He let his agent know and began notifying Italian athletics when he showed up at Italian indoors a week later but Italian NADO never got word and ended up giving him two strikes which along with another last year gives him three strikes. Ponzio's team is working on reducing a two-year suspension down to 18 months. Ponzio says Italian NADO has repeatedly ignored him and feels like they're trying to push him out of the sport.

Two of the strikes were a result of a new WA rule, where one could earn strikes if they are observed by some authority to be in a place where they had not recorded in their whereabouts, even if someone was not trying to test them at the time. Because Ponzio could not update his whereabouts to correct places due to not having access to his ADAMS account, he got dinged with 2 strikes within 1 week after the fact.
That sucks, especially if you are getting punished for when they are not actively trying to get a sample at the time. He said that he was tested at the Italian championships and other major meets during that time.
(Ponzio admitted that the strike he got last year was legit though, as it was sudden change in schedule because he got into a new international competition at the last minute, so he didn't update it in time).

Don't take it personally, dumb wigins doesn't know anything about anything.

If that’s the case, that’s very harsh. Generally, if you can demonstrate that you were out of contact through no fault of your own and that you made a good faith effort to report your whereabouts, the anti-doping agency will nix the infraction.
Throws will never be popular until it involves practical projectiles the public cares about. Currently the only practical throw is javelin, and they are required to throw it wrong (overhand) which limits their distance.
A practical throw would be something like a football or a baseball. People would genuinely be interested world records for these. QB's and outfielders would have their stats discussed during games.
They could have people throw something like a ball, rock or mobile phone from the discuss/hammer circle and see how far it goes. The problem with that sideways technique for the javelin I think is that it goes into the crowd occasionally. There is a WR for the mobile phone throw!
bet he got dropped from funding from the Italian Federation and/or got dropped or reduced by a current sponsor. As it stands NP will never medal on the world stage in fact struggles to be among Europes best. And while his persona might be a little entertaining how many people are buying tickets to meets to see him throw? How many shot out shoes is he selling ? I am guessing the answer to both those questions is zero. So with a cut in funds sure Nick is trying to play the victim card
There are plenty of people who train at a high level while working jobs. I think it's pathetic when elite athletes completely quit when they lose their sponsorship. Three hours of lifting/technique/rehab per day is plenty of physical activity and your body can't handle much more than that. It is very possible to do this if it's a priority to you. But so many people quit when they lose their sponsorship, I don't get it. They must not actually like doing it and won't do it for 'free' or very limited prize money.

No new rule, filing errors have been there for ages.

Anyone who buys Ponzio's "explanation" is incredibly gullible and naive. As was mentioned upthread, geezus, borrow someone else's phone; his livelihood depends on his whereabouts being properly updated, it's not that hard. Are we to believe he doesn't have a laptop or desktop, or didn't even have access to one in all that time? How about a public library?
