How does a team afford to go somewhere like Flagstaff for an entire month? Are they staying in the NAU dorms? Can you eat in their cafeteria during the summer? How much does the room and board cost per person?

Yeah, that’s more extreme than Newbury Park doing their thing because Belen Jesuit has to fly. It’s a private school. There’s loads of money in Miami. That’s how they can afford it. But it’s pretty bonkers.
Listen to this episode from The XC Report on Spotify. The Southeast Region includes lots of fairly competitive states, making it a highly competitive region to compete in. Today we're looking at the top pre-season contenders...
Kudos to the program for being top 25 in the country, but at what cost? There are already rumors of the top kid transferring out because of this reputation and history. It's really sad. You meet guys like this in the workforce, burnt out, shadows of themselves with nervous breakdowns, teaching/coaching to live through other kids. Hopefully this Mantecon kid is the breakthrough the program needs. Someone who can grow and love the sport beyond his 6-12th grade experience.
Who’s transferring out? Socarras? I remember someone made and deleted a thread that he will be transferring to Christopher Columbus. He will make that team stronger. But still, Belen will have enough depth to win NXR SE
Well, based on these results, none of their top guys transferred out. Or at least, no one from last year’s NXN team did
Mantecon 8:50.0 tonight at Arcadia for a new high school freshman national record!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (previous record was 8:50.7 by Lukas Verzbicas)
I keep seeing threads about this team pop up so it must be a teammate or parent and it gets sad because you read about how this program just churns through runners. The Vento kid already quitting the sport at the Univ. of Florida after a season; stories of their last year #1 running states with a stress fracture and suffering multiple fractures.
