Someone of her caliber (one of the top female distance racers in the world) wouldn’t make a trip to the US, in what amounts to a relatively minor meet, to just pace a race, even if she doubles in the 800.
She’s not “making a trip to the US”. She trains in the area.
For sharpener workouts these are actually quite good doubles. The first pair are in line w Tyynismaa's prs. The second pair match up w what Touhy's prs 'should be' about now.
Quite impressive that her workout was better than kt's actual bests, so it did indicate a 3k quicker than 8:35.
Anyone know which event she is racing in Doha in two weeks?
There is an interview for a german runners blog where she said distance at Doha will be 1500m.
Alles neu bei Konstanze Klosterhalfen: Die 5000-Meter-Europameisterin läuft jetzt nicht nur in Puma, sondern wechselt auch die Trainingsgruppe und den Coach. Im Interview verrät sie die Gründe.
I’m guessing Tuohy is a little sharper at this point and I’d predict she outkicks Klosterhalfen as both run ~4:05. That’d put Tuohy in a good place to run a very fast 5k in 2 weeks, and prime Koko to run very low 4-minutes in Doha.
Something odd happened here, Vin was working to make the UVA meet like a Stanford meet. Strong fields, lead meet on schedule, pros, east coast media attention and...crickets, his own acc schools pull out for little meet at Wake. Hhhhmmmm...
People sick of Vin and manipulating of home meets. Never provides rabbits, changing schedule day before, and screwing ACC schools around.
Is there any info online about attending as a spectator? I am not finding anything and curious if I should make the drive to watch the distance events this evening.

All I can see is

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – For the first time since March 24, 2018, the Wake Forest men's and women's track and field programs will host a home meet on Reynolda...
Thank you. I guess if I were to show up at 7:30 it will be free to walk in and sit in the stands. Nice stadium at WFU, so I may do this tonight. Should be some good racing. It does say "free to the public," so I am taking that to mean that the public can attend. My fear was that it would be closed to spectators or something. I won't complain about free, but they could definitely charge for this event. I would gladly pay to attend.
Sydney Masciarelli in the steeple. Gonna be interesting to see what the former 2k steeple high school record holder can do in her first full-distance race.
Koko is racing the 800 and then pacing a slower group in the 1500. Rachel Walters is pacing the 1500 for Tuohy
Disappointing! Thought it might be something like that after seeing some other Puma athletes in the race. I think Taylor Werner and Piccirillo are both coached by Cragg as well.
NC State Sophomore Katelyn Tuohy takes the race from the start to finish, splits 48 67 66 63 to win the ACC 1500m title!! A 6-second PR! Katelyn doubled back...
