Hope he’s ok. If his shoe came off, he should have walked off. No reason for him to be a hero in this 1500.
It's 200m barefoot, every guy he competes with in the 10k ran barefoot their whole childhood. Not a big deal
Well, that’s the point. Fisher grew up wearing shoes! You think running 1500 closing speed barefoot for 200 m for our best distance runner is a good idea? I think it’s dumb.

Elly Henes ran the last mile or so of a 5000 in one shoe last year without any apparent subsequent issues.
Teare sub 3:35 outkicking Massaoudi, nice runs from Waskom and Kibet. There was a big shove/issue that I couldn’t quite tell who got pushed off the track. Fisher apparently part of it?
Yeah horrible camera angle. Looked like a big collision and Grant lost his shoe?
Sahlman with the PR, results vanished before I could grab them but 3:38.xx for Sahlman in 2nd place
Got to be happy for him. He’s been taking a lot of incoming, at least on LRC. More than the absolute time, he closed today like his old HS self. That was great to see. He ran a great last 200.

Maybe so, but do you think that’s smart for Fisher to do in a 1500 at Bryan Clay? This is a guy we want to medal in the 5 or 10 in Budapest. Makes my navicular bone hurt just thinking about it.
Mia Barnett ran a PR of 4:10 and it was the way she did it that was amazing. She threw caution to the wind and just left the pack and didn’t draft like a punk. If she can do that solo than look out.

Last year at Virginia, she had a promising early season with a PR of 4:11, but got 20th at regionals and washed out for NCAAs. Hopefully Brosnan has the touch that can get her all the way this year. She has always been a great performer to watch. I'm not sure if she has the closing speed required to win at the top level, but if Tuohy were setting a heavy pace, I suspect that Mia would be one to hang with it.
Probably not. What was the split? Without knowing, some good candidates are Moses Tanui from 9600+ to 9800+ in the '93 World Championships, and Kipruto in a Diamond League final steeplechase.
Moses Tanui kicks off his shoe after becoming increasingly frustrated by Haile Gebrselassie's shadowing tactics. Men's 10,000m final at the 1993 World Champi...
