Kipchoge is the GOAT, but he's unproven on hilly courses and the field is LOADED. Who you got?
Jonathan Gault's preview is up. Vote in our poll.

I am not from the USA, but I have greater interest in how the Americans will run. True/Mantz/Fauble. Just seems more interesting and personal.

I would go with Kipchoge. But the dark horse is a 2:06 man named Andamlak Belihu! I mean this guy went through the first half with Kipchoge last year in Berlin, splitting 59:51 and he would keep world record pace past 25K, and that was just his debut! He could spring a surprise.
Not his debut

Can someone explain why the race is being held on a Monday? Wouldn’t it be easier to do it on a sat or sun with the road closures, tv broadcast etc? Is it just a tradition?
Yes. The state has a holiday on the third Monday of April called Patriots Day. The Boston marathon (except the covid year) has always been run on Patriots Day. A tradition they will never change I think.
Kipchoge.
The day of the race we’re always pissing and moaning about the coverage. Any way to put the top 5 sites/ YouTube streams etc up in advance so that when they keep cutting to commercial and interviewing the guys at the pub we could say “stream x” is best.
Chebet FTW .
2:03 PB and former winner. He's gonna beat the old GOAT.

Going with Evans Chebet. He knows how to win.
Nailed it perfectly. Evans is pre-Covid era Kipchoge. 2020 Kipchoge is nowhere the same as 2023 one at 38.

I would for sure take the field over Eliud Kipchoge. Now this has nothing to do with the course. Eliud has been good for a long time but all good things come to an end. Eliud might win but if I were a betting man, I would bet against it.
As I was saying…
