Blanking on a few names (old man brain) that might make list.
Yep, add Parker Wolfe too. CO doesn't get noticed because of the altitude, until these guys go to low elevation and kick butt. Same with the women. Elise Cranny, Katie Rainsberger, Brie Oakley, Lauren Gregory, Riley Stewart.
Cmon man you left 2 FootLocker Champions off that girls list!
Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, the Dakotas, New Mexico, Vermont, New Hampshire, Alaska, Hawaii, Maine, Nevada
Idaho would actually be pretty decent.
-Elijah Armstrong- 4x 4A state champ, 3rd & 6th at Footlocker, 8:52 3200m PR -Nathan Green- 3x 5A state champ, 11th and 18th at NXN, 4:00 and 8:53 PRs -Billy Herman- 3x large classification (now 5A) state champ, 3x All-American -Dallin Farnsworth- 2x 5A state champ, 11th at Footlocker, 8:55 PR -To round out the top 5, probably Rob Rene or Marty Stroschien from the 1984 Highland team, who were the national champs. Those two were all Americans in their own right. -Dallin Farnsworth- 2x 5A state champ, 11th at Footlocker, 8:55 PR -Eric Fitzpatrick- 3x Idaho state champ, 9:10 PR. While Eric didn't have the post season accolades of the other guys, he did win 3 straight titles, including 2 big showdowns with Cody Helbling, who was a 2x Footlocker finalist.
What would a NY all time list look like on the women? Obviously starts with Touhy...
Tuohy, Cuffe, Ryan, Baloga, Chmiel.
Huddle was very good but only 4th at FL (a national record on the track though). Similar resume to Chmiel and you could definitely swap them. The other four are non-negotiable IMO.
Honorable mention goes to Sue Girard. While she was not necessarily "fast" by today's standards, and only finished 5th at FL, she was absolutely a legend and incredibly dominant in the early days of women's cross country in New York. If she was born 30-40 years later she might have been a star on the same level as Tuohy.

CT wouldn't win but I'm going to throw it up anyways:
Hannah DiBalsi
Meghan Owen
Cece Hopp
Liz Mueller
Jan Merrill
Gavin Coombs
Donn Cabral
Gavin Sherry
Amby Burfoot
John J Kelley
Sydney Masciarelli is from CT. Danae Rivers and Michaela Meyer were NCAA champions but might not be strong over XC. Lindsay Crevoiserat, Chloe Scrimgeour, and Kate Wiser would be really competitive.

Alex Ostberg, Henry Wynne
Good call outs. It's tough to remember all of them especially the recents.

Hard to compare past and present.
My New York 5 girls would be:
Tuohy, Huddle, Cuffe, Blood, and Chmiel
Aislinn Ryan won FL, but Nicole Blood was in the same year as Aislinn, and IMO had a more robust career, plus she had an incredibly successful college career as well. It's hard because I don't want to hate on a national champ.
What state would win an XC race with their all-time top 5 runners?
My guess would be CA vs IL. Who would win between these two states? Any others?
Are we basing this on strictly what they ran in high school? Or college, or their whole career?
If it is based on high school (like we're putting together an all-time-great high-schoolers race and assuming they are all seniors)... well, I hate that I have to write this... but...
Newbury Park (2022) would beat the all-star high school team from every state, ever. So, I guess the answer is California.
