No way. A decent playground pickup team of boys could beat an all start WNBA team.
No, you are wrong. Story
I was at U of Georgia. We were playing on this outside basketball court. On the court were a few guys who were all region (think a district) in high school basketball. This girl comes by. She is about 5-11 and obviously athletic.
She asked if she could play (we had 9 so were playing 4v4) so we said sure.
After 3 trips down court, it was apparent she knew how to play. Guys kept switching off to guard her and she made each one look bad and these guys were often taller than her.
After 10 minutes maybe, we stopped when the ball rolled away. Finally some guy asked "who are you"? She said my friends call me T but my name is Teresa. Someone said "from Cairo (GA)". She smiled a bit and said yes. We all burst out laughing. It was Teresa Edwards who is one of the all time greats.
So no a group of guys from the playground are not going to beat WNBA all stars.
Univ. of Conn. has former high school male players scrimmage with their team. It is not even close. Someone said the ladies can't even get the ball past midcourt if the guys are trying hard.
For the record, your friends suck. I doubt they were all-anything, even in the smallest of schools. Go back to your basement and make up some more fictional stories.
I am saying if you put together a team of the very elite WNBA players and allowed them 6 months to practice together, could they beat the Houston Rockets who kind of stink?
If it was 5 WNBA on 3 Houston Rockets you might have a bit of a contest but the Rockets still win easily
But Gwyneth Paltrow is pretty good at full contact skiing (and men are pretty bad at it, since 95% of all skiing deaths are men, mostly from skiing into trees).
So what are women the closest at? Golf? Downhill skiing? Long distance running?
Possibly downhill skiiing. Those women are crazy good. At one point I would have liked my chances vs college women in many sports. Downhill skiing. Never. Never in a million years.
