All Cheserek had to do was join the US Army like alot of Kenyan runners do after they finish college in the USA, he just could not race for one year he would have gotten his citizenship and been an officer in the Army recieved great coaching and would have been able to run in Diamond league races and try out for the Olympic and world championship teams it was very easy. At 29 he still not an American citizen.
He wasted his time and lost out on alot of money. Sad but he saw other Kenyans do it.
The pro career of Ches, one of the NCAA's most dominant distance runners ever exactly mirrors what Prefontaine's pro career would have been: not so great.
Once Viren was done with him, he'd have been schooled by Yifter, the late 70s/early 80s British middle distance crop, Henry Rono. If he tried marathon he'd be schooled by buddy Shorter, Rodgers, Salazar, DeCastella. I know Pre fans will be offended but fact is he would never have been close to #1 in any period after 1972.
Notice how he Edward Cheserek immediately improved by leaps and bounds the moment he returns to rural Kenya in June 2023 onwards to train for the marathon? He immediately gained some lustre and shine again and why? It's because it's much more likely that he finds himself less irradiated in space-time by anthropogenic RF and EMF the whole time while training and resting in his rural and technologically/digitally bare and spartan village. In addition to better more wholesome organic hand-grown and reared poultry and foods/plants for his nutritional needs. Also fresher and cleaner air. Less less less of all pollution classes across the board in rural Kenya and same for rural Ethiopia.
He just didn't have these relatively pollution-free environments AS MUCH in America as compared to in rural Kenya in his village. Notice how Kelvin Kiptum also comes from around the same village region and he went on to run the world record. It's not because Kelvin has better genes than Cam Levins or Galen Rupp, it's because Kelvin has better epigenetic environment than the latter 2. Proof of my point is the sudden reversal to his days of youth in Edward Cheserek when he returned to a better epigenetic environment in rural kenya to train again. This has nothing to do with increased mileage or better training. It has everything to do with only BETTER RECOVERY provided by better pollution-free epigenetic environment found in rural Kenya.
In summary: it's not training, it's not altitude (unless the race is at altitude), it's not genes. It's your RF and EMF environment, it's your natural foods and nutrition, it's your rest and recovery with nothing to do with training volume or intensity/mileage. Basically, it's EPIGENETIC ONLY!
Renato Canova doesn't fully know the basis of the best high-performance blueprint and only revolves his ideas around training and recovery adjustments but doesn't explicitly show consciousness of the precise epigenetic/environmental mechanisms for such recovery. At best Renato can only be half conscious or weakly associate a predominantly rural environment like Kenya as a good training/recovery grounds for high-performance athletes whereas a true RF King like me can be 300% conscious of not an association but an exact cause of high-performance athletic ability being the exact pollution-free epigenetic environment of rural Kenya (in general)!
That's why I, as RF King beat all the best distance coaches in this world because I possess rarefied highly suppressed and unknown knowledge of the true Holy Grail of high-performance distance running and can then manipulate and pull strings to manufacture the outcome I want if supposing I become interested tomorrow to pick and choose an East African to train and mold to become the new WR holder in the marathon or any distance event. I can even show an abject lack of knowledge of high-performance marathon training paradigms and just train the simple Arthur Lydiard way and still get my athlete to run 1:58:59 for the marathon because only knowledge of the epigenetic pollution-free environment is enough to seal the deal! That said, I show no interest in high-performance sport or coaching. I only prefer to observe and comment, unfortunately!

Look, high-performance distance running science is putatively relative and nothing absolute in the manner of absolute causes and consequences. That's because there is a confounding co-variable it omits in all its scientific researches and studies: RF and EMF pollution and epigenetic mechanism. Half a century worth of high-performance distance running science can be simply thrown down the garbage chute due to lack of factoring of this God-hallowed variable into all its researches and studies.
Out of all the science genres in this planet earth, high-performance ones are the most horrendously underdeveloped full of loopholes and flaws contrary to popular belief and opinion. On the other hand, RF and EMF science is the most developed and closest to perfection (albeit not there yet and leaves much to be desired) because superpower military institutes of the Cold War from America and Soviet Union were involved in such research and advancement. Military science trumps civil science! High-performance distance running science = civil science = garbage science! Unfortunately, the truth.....take it from me.

A cynic might suggest that pollution free air and water, healthy food, AND illegal drugs could have played a part.
Impossible. I'm slightly different from Renato Canova. I'm far more conscious in my mind of anthropogenic RF and EMF as a known environmental neurotoxin, genotoxin, teratotoxin, cytotoxin. Renato suggests it's impossible for doped up rural pollution free East African athletes to run faster and perform better than non doped up ones. I agree with him nominally because the manner in which we conceptualize and understand how this statement is true is however as different as heaven is from hell.
For me, Mother Nature (God) is King. It cannot be beaten by man-made pharmaceutical drugs and pills/injections like EPO or man-made intelligence in general. Mother Nature (God) forever comes before man and his intelligent! Mother Nature's (God's) intelligence moderates and controls mankind's one. This is a hallowed rule and principle. So a natural epigenetic environment free of anthropogenic RF and EMF like those of our ancestors, also free of all air pollution and toxins in the food chain and water/drink MUST trump all the synthetic drugs in the world in all space-time
Consequently, a Kalenjin warrior athlete who hails from a totally pollution free rural environment but actually taints and corrupts his body's physiology with synthetic man-made pharmaceutical pills and drugs actually successfully taints and corrupts the same thus subtracting away from his true high-performance potential and capacity for WRs.
Mixing a naturally strengthened (by natural elements of Mother Nature like natural sunlight, natural foods/drink) physiology with unnatural pharmaceutical synthetic elements destroys and takes away what natural strength once had. And I make this statement from an epigenetic and environmental RF and EMF basis, different from Renato Canova who doesn't explicit quote 'pollution', 'RF and EMF' or 'epigenetic environment' like I do. Therefore, Renato doesn't truly know what he is talking about. Renato's knowledge is still only half-full compared to mine which is overflowing and full beyond capacity (too good and fantastic knowledge)!

Good Lord you're dumb. It's amazing the insight you have over something that never happened.
I get it, some of you losers don't like the positive publicity Pre gets. But, really? This is one of the dumbest things anyone has ever posted here- and there have been some off the wall dumb things posted.

Emotions, hate, insults, but not one fact.
Pre would have been owned by Henry Rono. Yes, really. Use convincing facts if you think this is deniable.
He should have “joined” the military like all the other Kenyans. Then he would’ve been fast tracked to citizenship and just have to sit a a card table in the mall trying to recruit people a few hours a day

Lol they would NOT put somebody like Ed or any of the Kenyans on recruiting duty.
As times progress and new generations of stars emerge, itâs easy to forget all-time greats from the near past like Ed Cheserek, who was Penn Relays royalty.
