Mia Brahe-Pedersen is pretty darn fast, having run 11.25 and 22.95 as a sophomore and making the finals at World Jrs (4th in 200, 7thin 100) and recently ran 22.89.
None of this breaking a stereotype. We live in the age of Abby Steiners and Femke Bols. White people can run sprints. The best miler in the US and perhaps the world can be Black and a natural born citizen. None of this is new. However, simply put, its a new era of track and field and I love it. Anything is possible. Why can't we all leave it at that?

I wonder what's happening? Maybe HS coaches are getting less racist and no longer push Afro-American kids into sprints, whites into middle-distance, and East Africans into long distance? Maybe LetsRun is now the last bastion of scientific racism?

I feel like this is part true. I have a theory that the NFL in the past two decades and especially the last decade have:
1. Better utilized black intelligence, specifically black quarterbacks getting a fair chance.
2. Better utilized white athleticism, specifically white quarterbacks being optimized to scramble.
This could be from better data. Like Russell Wilson didn't "look" like a quarterback but he was given a chance and won a super bowl for Seattle, or Daniel Jones "looks" slow but really utilizing top end speed.
Not sure how to extend to track. It's not like a bunch of advanced statistics now exist that would overcome stereotypes.
Only thing is she will never have as much pressure and hate put on her as Boling has. Everything is put in place to prevent white US men from developing in the 100m

Possibly the dumbest take in a thread filled with dumb takes.

That’s true, but his parents are Ethiopian, not African American

She had a rough 2021. She ran 7.21 a year ago, not bad but not a world-beater. Injuries?
At least MBP is being compared to Boling and not Bolt, quite a bit more realistic/attainable.
Why is she being compared to Boling? Boling is a white male. Wouldn't make more sense to compare her to a white female like Abby Steiner or Marybeth Sant-Price?
How about instead of her being the next Boling, Steiner, Sant-Price, or whomever, she's just the first Mia Brahe-Pedersen?
You people making a big deal about white sprinters are exhausting.

No, coaches see what distance a kid has an apptitude for and has them concentrate on that distance....You label reality as racism...
All time Junior list, up to age 19 you can NOT turn 20 in the calendar year
And there it is. AC, if you have fun twitting people in this way for their egregious misuse of apostrophes, that's fine--what the hey, enjoy your life.
But the DBs of this world will never, ever, "get" what you're referring to. They will blithely continue to use apostrophes to make plurals.
