Did we watch the same race? She indeed received a standing ovation. Very nice of the fans to do that. Tuohy didn't look happy in this meet.
you must be blind, there was no standing ovation. the cheering was primarily for DUKE because they were in the hunt for the team title. Maatoug moved into second to score 8 huge points for them heading into the last event, essentially guaranteeing them a team title (barring a baton drop)

You must have also missed Tuohy’s interview where the interviewer mentioned the standing O’ and Tuohy acknowledged it with a smile and a nod…
The scary thing is how close she is at this point…she just beat Schweizer’s college record by a whopping 6 seconds…and her rate of progression is not slowing down. It’s possible that there’s no competition left for her in the NCAA’s…and she’s still only 20! She’s catching up to the elite faster than they would like. There is little doubt that many pro’s fear her or are at least in awe. If you’re a fan of the sport this is good news…there’s no room for jealousy here. We need to support her, not tear her down. There’s nothing but humility coming from her.
pros run 4:23 with altitude training and full pro training... katelyn ran without any of that
what the pros should also take note is that katelyn tuohy is graduating this year, a year early than her peers, she really is coming for them sooner than expected
pretty sure the pros know how competitive katelyn is, there was one interview of elly henes w citius mag, and she told them that katelyn tuohy is so so competitive that she will always be good at anything .. i guess that also explains why shes a deans lister gal from day 1
Can’t be on the deans list from day one… but ok. Maybe from the first semester :.. she’s great but your hero worship is not.
Just watched Lauren Gregory win the SEC 3K in around 9:10, beating Omemoi, I believe. Since the two would be primary competition for Tuohy, we can see where that will go. They also mentioned the great DMR performance of 4:30, another indicator of what Tuohy’s options are for the mile distance. Both distances could probably be won with a 10-20 second winning margin.
Katelyn Tuohy won the ACC Indoor title in the 3,000 meters with a meet and facility record 8:51.92 on Saturday in Louisville. On Thursday, she anchored the North Carolina State women's DMR to a third-place finish. Her split o...
Sorry but the 20 year-old phenomenal runner you are suspecting has been breaking countless records for 8 years now. Has 30+ state records compared to Valby's 1, has 4 national HS records compared to Valby's none, 3 collegiate records, 1 U20 record and 2 world records under her name 🙂. Has been beating adults since the age of 10. So yea svck it up buttercup!
Valby PRs are 2 minutes slower until Solinsky stepped in to "help" her.
Its really tiring how Valby fans keeps shoving valby in these threads to force a rivalry when valby clearly is not tuohy's top competition anymore

Hilda does not have accelleration to kick with Tuohy. Gregory in a slow race can be dangersous.
