Maybe they have a road prototype that Allie will wear. The trail shoe isn't so luggy that it couldn't be worn on the roads, but it would only be as good as a typical lightweight trainer.
I was wondering if that was happening too. However, it won't be any good. Sorry, I do really like Emily and Kilian and the whole idea of their shoe, but, just look at how crap Salomon's road shoe is.
And, perhaps I'm the only one who thinks Allie is young enough and has enough talent to think about making an Olympic team still, but to do so she will need to focus on a type of training that is not trail running. She will also need a track shoe. But maybe she doesn't want to go to the Olympics, I do think she needs to do what is makes her happy.
Other than testing and giving design ideas I doubt Kilian had much to do with producing either Salomon shoes or even the NNormal shoes. With that said Salomons shoes designed specifically for Kilian have always been far better than the rest of their line (the original Sense Ultra and Pulsar). I am not sure how much input he ever had for their road line and honestly yeah, hes not a road guy so probably not the best person for designing a road shoe anyway.
It is fairly new yet, they released the initial product line last fall. I personally have tried their Kjerag shoe, the pants and their running tee. Pleasantly surprised for such a new brand their gear is as good as anything else out there. The Kjerag shoe is super light weight and has midsole foam that is very reminiscent of Nike's zoomx foam only firmer and more dense maybe? I have 2 pairs and the first has over 400 miles and still has plenty of life in it.
I signed a professional contract with Nnormal! I am a pro runner! I am SO EXCITED!!! I feel so blessed to have partnered with a brand that believes in me who...
100 percent support for her and happy she will get another chance. I won’t bet against her and it is clear she is healthy and running fast and in a good place. Wish her well!
Looks like she will take up sub ultra trail racing this year:
"Although much of her career as an athlete has been spent on the track, she has a great love for the mountains and all that they offer. What she likes most about trail running is the unpredictability of nature. She defines it as a constantly changing sport, in which both technique and experience are important in tackling each race. This year Allie will take up trail running competitively over short distances in both the USA and Europe."
Actually very disappointing if she is going ultra route. What a waste. We all got to make a living but she had so much promise. I really thought she be running sub 15 5000 at least by now.
With the current crop of US women’s distance runners, it is pretty unlikely that sub-15 5k fitness on its own is enough to contend for a team, especially since Allie has never been known as much of a kicker. Obviously she grew up in Alaska and is very familiar with trail running, so it’s reasonable to expect she could have a better, less-injured, or at least more enjoyable career in sub-ultras than on the track/road
Agree, I think she had very little chance of making a US team, especially with some of the top collegians moving up in the next few years. And people seem to forget she was a world jr mountain running champ. Look at someone like Allie McLaughlin, who has had a pretty long career and probably stayed haealthier and was more successful than she would have been just on the track.
I don't see why she can't still run some road and track races. Just cover the logos on the shoes and wear NNormal athletic clothing. Other trail runners show up on the roads occasionally.

I've tried both the models they make and found them to fit poorly and definitely not at the level of other top trail brands. No way close to the feel of other super foams like ZoomX, Fuel Cell or PowerRunPB. I can appreciate the sustainability story, but Nnormal isn't the only brand with a focus on improving sustainability.
Agree, reminds me of that Greek Pappas, an unfortunate waste and kinda cringe. I mean do what you like and each to their own, but don't pretend it doesn't eat you at your core and that you are definitely going to die wondering.
