How many of these rigged games that you alluded to would it take before one would rightfully say that the league is rigged?
Yoy really aren't getting this are you? The NFL has never geen rigged, what about that are't you getting? Has there ever been a game a couple games where a player a ref did something to sway the outcome illegally, that is a possibility but that isn't......the NFL is rigged.....ok. OK????
Gambling is huge in the NFL, if a player who lost big found out the game was rigged, think about that, what do you think would happen? What do you think all those sponsers on NFL games would be doing? If the NFL rigged games and it was found out.......think abut that. First off.......how long has this been going on?

Herschel Smith(fiction) was approached in 2002 by a couple shady dudes in a bar in Miami, Smith a DB for the Dolphins. All he had to do was let a couple long ones get by him, would 1 mill work? Has that ever happened, possible. So Smith gets cut, a couple years go by,, the money is gone, needing money he contacts a local radio station for the right price he will tell the story, obviously on a video somewhere of him being burned....twice. So what woud happen now, well? Now if that had been some NFL brass making a deal with him, what happens?

However, you are the one that just keeps making the claim that it is utterly impossible for it to ever be rigged, despite acknowledging that perhaps a game or two has been. So, I would like to hear your specific definition of when would the league be considered "rigged". Yet, you seem to refuse to discuss this for some reason and keep just making the same claim without any critical thought behind it.

Can a player, a ref do something to sway the outcome of a football game, yes that can happen. Is a whole league looking to rig their games, that will never happen.

I have no direct evidence to say the NFL is rigged in any way. However, anytime you have as much money as is involved in the outcome of NFL games, the potential is there. Add to that all the money people are betting on the outcomes and you have the perfect temptation.
There's been an NBA referee arrested and jailed for taking bribes to rig games. A legendary baseball player and manager, known to have a gambling problem, was arrested for betting on his own games. The baseball world series was rigged over 100 years ago by multiple players who took bribes from gamblers. And that's when a tiny fracture of money was at stake, compared to now.
Where there is money, there will corruption. Where there is a lot of money involved, there will be a lot of corruption.
I would counter this with a few things. Pete Rose was not arrested for betting; he served time for tax evasion. He was banned from baseball from betting. While it is a bad thing due to Black Sox there is not great evidence his bets involved changing the outcome of games.

For the players, if they are making millions or have a chance to do so, some guy coming in would have to offer up a lot of money to fix a game as the risk would not be worth it. Not to mention prison time.
As evidence, the Black Sox were paid by gamblers because they were not paid well and the owner was treating them like crap. And to add to it the gamblers tried to double cross the players and not pay them. Today, how much money would it take to get a starting player to throw a game when they are making hundreds of millions of dollars.

If I understand correctly, in your opinion, there is no number of individual bad actors who could affect games (even if they affected all of them!?) that you think it would appropriate to say that the league is rigged. To you, it would take some higher level of "conspiracy" amongst many people or more guaranteed fixed outcomes in order for it to be labeled "rigged". Fair enough - you're welcome to your opinion.
I have a much lower threshold for it to be deemed "rigged". Although you are correct that individual refs, players, and coaches are not the NFL, they certainly do represent the NFL. If enough of them pull punches or make calls that affect games so that people reasonably and correctly asses that they did indeed act with ulterior motives. Then the credibility of the league will continue to be diminished (obviously), and in my opinion, at some point, it would make the league fully deserving of the "rigged" label. I wholly discard your (what I consider to be) foolish assertion that the NFL could never ever be rigged. The league has only been in existence for ~100 years! Such a relatively short time.

I don't think Owners care about sports betting. NFL (slightly rigged) will continue to sell seats. Nobody stopped watching the MLB when they changed the ball characteristics. Even WWE sells seats and they pretended it wasn't fake for the longest time until UFC happened. Now the WWE is "choreographed" but "not predetermined," which, obviously, is still BS. People keep watching. Deno will keep watching if it's proved it's rigged and then they pin it all on one or two owners or one or two officials. Then it will come out (years later) that it's "more widespread than we previously thought", but they're putting in controls to make sure it doesn't happen again. Deno will keep watching. There is no real downside to rigging the NFL matches. What are people going to watch? SOCCER?

Are you paying any attention at all, do you just not get what could happen to the NFL if it was found out the league.....key word league .....rigged games? Do you get what that would do the sponsers of the NFL,? Do you not get the gambling and those casinos that would be involved paying out big $$$$$$ on rigged games? Think.........gamblers who lost because of rigged games........d you not get this?

Yep. And the Eagles were given a free touchdown on their first drive when it was clear on video replay (of course, after the call was confirmed) that the ball hit the ground and was incomplete. Eagles ended up with 7 first downs from penalties. SF? Zero.
It's not rigged by the players. BUT there's reasons why people falsely believe it's rigged. The referees do have a lot of influence and can manipulate the results with a key penalty or several of them to cover the spread or change the winning team.
A decent amount of games come down to a few key plays at pivotal moments and refs can influence the results to make games close or change results. It should also be noted that these players are for the most part very financially comfortable and that could lead to them letting off the gas at certain moments in a game or having less than stellar performances. Thus you see superior teams playing down to inferior opponents and big upsets. In a 17 game season where 7 of 14 or 15 teams make the playoffs, you can afford to lose games. It's not like every week if a championship game level effort required. An example is the chiefs toying with inferior teams and going to overtime with the league worst Texans. They can afford to drop games during the season. At the end of the day Mahomes will still be a billionaire some day regardless if he wins a random season game or not.
The people saying it's rigged are primarily those who are down money betting on the nfl and people who think they know the game but they really do not have anything resembling a comprehensive understanding of it.
I said it was rigged a week ago before my team went out. It's not rigged by the players and nobody is claiming that. I said (page 2) it's rigged by the owners and refs because they are going to control the narrative of their sport and not allow how much money they make be decided on "how a player is feeling that day," or as you put it, whether or not they "feel financially comfortable and are letting off the gas."
