I'm in Dallas, where it is currently 11 degrees. But this blast is only going to last another day and the temps will be in the 60s by early next week. Yesterday, the temps fell 30 degrees in something like 10 minutes as the front hit. No power failures reported. I kept the taps running last night, as construction here is not like the Midwest- no basements, so no indoor pipes- they are usually located in external walls. So far, no problems except the cold weather has shrunk my car tires so my low-pressure warning lights are on in both cars.
Well, the big storm will hit tomorrow at around 2pm. Want to bet if the power grid holds?

So what if it doesn't? Here in the California mountains around Tahoe we lose power all the time because of wind and snow and you don't see us complaining. Texans are soft, and the worst kind of hypocrites.

Being so far north, I'm surprised Dallas didn't get colder.
San Antonio, Austin, Seguin, and Houston all were around 0 degrees windchill.
Sitting at 8 degrees windchill currently, but it is forecast to be a high of 75 degrees by Thursday, so all of the chubby bikini girls can come out of hiding.

The Lockheed Military Industrial Complex Bowl was completed in 11 F temperatures and nobody died. Some fans were even in the stands. That was impressive, though most of the players had a lot of body fat to battle the elements

Well folks, it looks as though the GREAT ARCTIC CHILL OF 2022 is dwindling down.
The wild excitement of 16-degree weather was intoxicating and the power grid held firm.
In a few days it will warm back up into the high 70s and I will get back to enjoying having the chubby bikini girls wave at me as I peacock along the lake running trail in my shorty shorts.
