Funny how you said doubling 800 or mile and DMR leads to bad results. Then when seeing that you are incorrect, you back off to saying it only applies to the 800 and not the mile. Stanford is so loaded, they can afford to hold an 800 runner out in favor of the DMR and they will have another runner do the mile/DMR. It is Stanford for the win in the DMR. They will break the record while qualifying.
Barnett of UVA did the same mile/DMR double and finished last in the mile the next day. 2 hard runs pretty close together take a toll for the next day. Stanford can win DMR but the individual events may suffer.

Agree Stanford is the favorite for a record and NCAA win in dmr. Team of Whitaker, 400, Willis and Dudek is pretty formidable, plus there is bench strength with Hogg, Jenks, Starcher etc. The real challenge for Stanford is as always getting a healthy team to the line in March.
It will be an exciting year for dmr. All the usual powers plus OSU, Oregon St. and Virginia will be in the mix. I would guess Tuohy would go dmr/3000, but we have to see how season plays out first. NC St also has the deep bench for 1200/1600 if they can find 400/800 pieces. With only 16 slots, a lot depends on who qualifys for individual events.
Dudek will have to greatly improve! Unless they have another fast 1600 m runner because she has never run that fast and as of where it stands right now I could see other girls being anywhere from 5 to 10 seconds faster than her...

I think she will most likely do 5k/3k double like last year, if only because NC state doesn't have as strong 400/800 as other teams so they will run her where they have the best chance of points.

If they use Mareno who is really stepping up right now on the 1200 leg, then Bush could run the 800. She is a 2:04 runner. Not sure about the 400 though. They had an athlete last year who was pretty good - but not sure if she still has eligibility. If they have at least a 24 sec 200 runner - could try that approach, or their national qualifier heptathlete (not sure on her eligibility either). One thing is certain - Tuohy will give a hell of a chase on the anchor no matter how far back. There was some recent interview with her where she mentioned something about hoping for a relay team so we will see.
It's just never easy, Arkansas trots out 51/2:00 + van camp/Gregory (Thompson Torvaldson in reserve) and you have to run 9:50 to be in the race.
True about the 51 - they always have plenty of 400 runners, but I think Maloney is out of eligibility and they don’t have another 2:00 or anything even close to that.
Facts are very upsetting to Tuohy fans wen they don't support their narrative. There are a handful of women in the NCAA faster than Tuohy in the 3000. Her teammate holds their school record. She will be afraid to go near it because she hates losing more than she likes competing.
Way to go Katelyn! I love to see someone work hard and achieve great things individually and for their team. You are inspirational for your peers and fans of the sport!

Hilarious. Tuohy has 1500m speed. She has the 7th fastest 1500m time in NCAA D1 history at 4:06.84. And she has the 9th fastest 5000m indoor time in NCAA D1 history in 15:15.92. You don't think she can run a fast 3000m, splitting those distances?
Tuohy is currently on another level (health and fitness wise) than she was in the indoor season in the Spring of 2022, when she last ran a 3000. For example, her best 5000 time indoor in the spring of 2022 was 15:30. She just smashed that at Boston a few days ago running a 15:15. Tuohy ran a 3000 of 8:54.17 at Boston a year ago, only 0.05 second slower than Bush ran in Boston a few days ago.
If Tuohy runs a 3000 in this indoor season, she'll almost certainly go below 8:50, and beat what McCabe and Markezich ran a few weeks ago in Boston.
Last year there were quite a few runners with faster 3k pr's going into the meet and yet... she still ran.
Your love of trolling outweighs any common sense, let alone analysis.
Yeah, this is insane level trolling. Tuohy won't compete unless she knows she'll win?? Is that why she ran in the March 2021 NCAA XC Championship race in Stillwater, when she was coming off of knee surgery and didn't even have a proper base yet? Is that why she ran with a nagging injury all season long in the fall 2021 XC season? No, she did it because she cares most about the team.
