No offense, but is there is reason why we don't nuke the moon?

The Russians are doing it. You hate the Russians right? So blame it on them.

They tricked us into sending astronauts all the way out there to find nothing.

Yes, I thought that was a particularly nice touch. M-O-O-N, that spells nice touch.

What really pisses me off is when I'll sometimes see the moon during the day. Makes me furious.

Ok, bump because I have a workable way to destroy the moon, assuming it's really there.

Basically, nukes won't do the job. Those won't actually destroy it. All the craters from things that already hit it with the force of nukes proves the moon is one tough customer. The stuff just goes up in the air and lands in a circle far away around the point of impact. Nukes would just rearrange the moon like meteors do.

So instead we sent a robot catapult up there, that will fling moon rocks into space fast enough to escape its gravity. It may take a while, but it will work. And it can be a massive multinational effort. India just landed on the moon. Soon lots of countries will be able to.
