I agree. I was shocked when I saw a 6k/5k/4k/3k/2k/1k (off 5—>1min jog rest) from Cam averaging 2.46/km (58.30 half marathon).
Ben Flanagan vs Cam Levins strava is interesting. Some weeks Cam was hitting ~40k at 2.50/km or under (in what I assume were >100 mile weeks) while Ben was running 75 miles a week, only one modest workout, and taking a day off.
Yes, 1:01:00 for Ben Flanagan and 1:01:05 for Cam Levins
I expected at least a minute faster from Cam, considering his last block of training (I follow him on strava).

This is why Ben has a limited career. Can’t handle the workload to ever be a marathoner and doesn’t have the speed to ever run 27:20 on the track. NO OLYMPICS

That’s a pretty uneducated thing to say about a 7:47 3k guy who won 3 Falmouths and a Canadian record. Everyone has limits but he’s proving to have a pretty high ceiling
good win for koko. some fairly impressive scalps in there. Would chelimo have been the pre race favorite?
What are you going to say now? I thought only doped East africans could run 65 and faster nowadays!!!
But wasn't she with Salazar and Kejelcha in NOP? Thought that meant they were obvious dopers - isn't that the deal? Didn't they all get caught doping? Thought that was what the fuss was all about. Jerry's group would never do that - real Americans would never cheat or lie.

To put those things in context, 7:47 is a good time for a college athlete and Falmouth is a B-race. Flanagan will be a road warrior guy, and that's fine. Levins has the Canadian record in the marathon at 2:07. Entirely different level of athlete.

And yet Flanagan beat Levins in the race (61.00 to 61.05). Bad race by Levins I presume, since he must have run faster before (or not).
If I had my way I would get rid of the marathon and 10000m at Championships - both way too boring, and the 10 too often is won by the 5000m runner. Replace the Marathon with the Half.
