Perhaps they should also investigate the conditions around the record setting? Seems weird to sort of claim a record without it being officiated in any capacity?
It seems like you have covered most bases there. I did a little reading about the Robert Young case and I think to truly discredit him the watch would need to be investigated. Cadence seemed to be Young’s undoing because he was riding in the RV, but the data for Brockman’s cadence seemed to be fairly consistent when I had a brief look.
Would be very interested to see what some journalists with trained investigative capacities could do. I spoke to a friend who is a clinical physician about it and he seemed skeptical specifically regarding the injuries. I am also happy to be proven wrong about it. It’s a great story, but if it’s a lie, it sends a pretty terrible message to a lot of people about running/the body/injury/altruism/masculinity etc. And then there’s the money.
+1
If there's one common theme for all these stories, it's "follow the money". And here, it's joined by lots and lots of narcissistic "merch". Very, very sketchy.
OP, good find on this one, and best of luck with the follow-up. The RY thread was absolutely legendary; I followed that from Day 1.
So any update on Nedd, anyone done a full analysis? As a marathon/ultra marathon runner myself, I have looked at his strava and 99% certain assistance in some form was provided/undertaken (in my opinion). His consistency with large portions/many days at 6-7min average pace beyond mind boggling given terrain and temperature and he is a relatively new ultra runner, averaged 70-80km most days including injury along the way.
Some days describing as 20k warmup, 80k tempo .. just doesn't ring true. Lots of Instagram postings but little to nothing shown on strava, activity descriptions the generic auto strava titles - almost like 2 different identities.
Even his prior 50 marathons 50 days also seems suss, he managed a solid sub3 hour marathon in #50 .. [I did 5 marathons in 5 days for fun, I averaged about 3hrs45 and my marathon pb is 2.41. I couldn't have done a sub3 on day 5 even if i wanted...]
Unless Nedd is freakishly elite circa sub2.30 marathon runner/sub 15 min 5k runner... I would change my opinion to innocent until proven guilty as it stands my opinion guilty until proven innocent. I've seen very little though on his athletic abilities ??
Surprised fraud not being investigated/potential scam victims fund raised - all seems suss

If I download the data from Strava and analyze it, will you accept my findings or are you a Will Cockerell? I see in previous posts in this thread of posters that seemingly never even used a wristwatch heart rate monitor and think they are infallible.

Overall daily Summary with 20k average run splits in URL below, all information available including consideration to his run history and background in Ultras, I allege 'Assisted' in some form... Unless you believe in fairytales!
[50 marathons 50 days also highly suspect - his 50th day and a lazy sub3 gives that away - 'unless' he is a 230-240 marathon runner - he is unproven and an alleged fraud in my view the stats do not lie]
Nedd's previous 50 marathons 50 days detailed review summary, his average times only got quicker including finishing marathon #50 with a 2hr53 (and still his 'personal best' I believe...) - this summary in my view only adds support to assistance/cheat (alleged and in my opinion, to cheat once or receive any assistance discredits his entire feats):

He's not even good, let alone elite. He was 31st place 36.00 at a local 10km, and he's run 2:57 at Gold Coast marathon.
Any word on where the charity money has been spent?
He ran 100 miles in around 14 hours today around a 400m track - see his Strava for more information. However, for one, the GPS data looks pretty poor from around the track. The consistency of his splits is also incredible - a 14 hour 100 miler is relatively ‘elite’ in my opinion.
His previous 100 miler, also around a 400m track, showed a moving time of around 14 hours also, but a significantly longer elapsed time.
His plan to run 1000 miles in ten days has a nice ring to it and the vast majority won't realise that it is well beyond his proven abilities. He has set off very quickly and his plan of changing lanes every second lap does seem prone to error when he becomes exhausted. There may be a good reason why the public aren't allowed into the stadium until Day 6, but it would be good to know what it is. Is any independent body involved in verifying the run? The live feed is certainly a good idea, both for publicity and verification.
I can't comment on his run across Australia as I haven't really looked into it, but there do appear to be questions. There always are with any multiday run and a good test is whether the runner, their back up team and supporters respond to them with openness or hostility. Compare Rob Young, William Goodge and Paul Johnstone with Marshall Ulrich, Pete Kostelnick and Jenny Hoffman.
Best of luck to Nedd as it's brave to put yourself on the line like this, but claiming that you are attempting to break a record that you don't appear to be remotely capable of is great for publicity but a bit irritating. Maybe it's just me?

Nedd seem to be a joke.
He doesn't understand that he needs some official lap counting with a chip. The reason he was so fast on his 100 mile run is, that he didn't run the necessary laps for 100 miles. He just let strava tell him when he had 100 miles.
On a track that might be a 5% difference in length.
I've downloaded the data from Nedd's Strava for his run across Australia from Sept 1, 2022 to Sept 17, 2022. I've analyzed it and there is nothing suspicious about it. Nedd Brockman's run across Australia is legit.
The detailed data shows no high or inconsistent speeds indicative of travel by car. The cadence data is all there and the resulting stride lengths are consistent and regular runner values.
For Nedd's run across Australia he averaged 12.3 hours of recorded activity time per day, same as the average recorded activity time of Pete Kostelnick in his run across America. Whereas Pete did an average of 72 miles per day in America, Nedd only did 53.7 miles average per day in Australia. Nedd's performance is entirely realistic and reasonable, and I will even say that 53.7 miles per day is not an elite level ultra runner record performance since many people can do this. Pete could have easily broken Nedd's Australia time by an enormous amount when he was in his prime.
For those of you who in the previous Nedd Brockman thread that "analyzed" his Australia data by simply looking at the Strava P.O.S. "moving time" and simplified tables and graphs, do I need to tell you that you have no idea what you are doing and do you need me to teach you how to download data again?
