I never understood why it's a black mark on Jerry for saying that he had never heard of nandrolone. I have followed the sport earnestly since the early 2000s, and I had never heard of that compound until I came to these boards a few years ago. I'm not sure why you would find it so unbelievable that a track coach had little intimate knowledge of a specific steroid.
There is zero chance any track coach has never head of nandrolone.
ZERO.
This.
I'm probably one of the few who thinks it's certainly possible that Houlihan inadvertently ingested a prohibited substance versus intentionally doping.
But she still tested positive for nandrolone, a substance that was QUITE popular in the early 2000s. There is absolutely NO way any coach worth their salt has 'never heard of it before.'
That's like me claiming to have never heard of EPO, yet following the sport since the '90s.

Ok so you're aware of Trenbolone, Stanozolol, Metandienone, Tryptinalone, and Metenolone? Just wondering how extensive the average track fan's knowledge of various "popular" steroids is.
absolutely ridiculous to state that having a stanford engineering degree would make you less likely to dope. I have no opinion as to whether Grant Fisher is doping or not, but his education certainly plays no part in it.
Stanford degree or not, I do think Mr Fisher is smart enough to make a decision to NOT follow Jerry to Eugene....I just have a feeling he may be moving to Flag.....
We get it, you’re jealous you’ll never be as fast as these elite athletes. What did you run at University that was average or know/ competed against top athletes so you think your opinion is valid? Some high school sheep who races their workouts to run slow? Some middle aged desk worker who’s mad they never ran faster due to illegitimate college coaching methods? Suck it up. You are a sheep that over generalizes everything they see on the internet, when in fact you don’t have actual evidence or even asked the athletes themselves about it. Note worthy professionals have even acknowledged that Shelby may have not intentionally cheated. Can’t wait to watch BTC athletes represent the US and the other countries extremely well at the world stage. And as well as other athletes who don’t train with them.
Can you moderate posts to prevent every conversation and topic into an uninformed debate about who is or is not doping? It's beyond ponderous and it's the worst thing about Letsrun.
What is so "uninformed" about being suspicious of BTC? Their athlete was BANNED for doping.
Wejo/Rojo, please do not censor posts speculating about athletes doping.

Yeah. EPO is in a whole different category of drug popularity than some niche steroid. I know I sure didn't remember that was what was in baumans toothpaste. And I have no clue what was in the clear or half the sh-t nflers get busted for.

If Grant leaves BTC and Jerry, my respect for him is going to go up a lot…

Can’t speak for wtfbbq , but I do follow endurance sports and I’ve heard of those steroids, particularly Tren. We get it, you’re just some bored loser troll.
shelboo is guilty and she will fade into obscurity like the other dopers. Alignment with an organization that has had multiple members doping says a lot about her character, or cooper t for that matter. I understand the swoosh is cool, so is making money, I get it; but winning over integrity; winning with an asterisk over your career; results constantly being called into question; forevermore guilty by association. There are better ways to have a successful career.

LOL. Obviously good old tren and stanozolol (Ben Johnson!) are well known, but "tryptinalone"? LOL

While I agree with you about the character of these athletes etc.: "better ways to have a successful career", yes, but better ways to make a great living out of running and to set American Records and be globally competitive? I highly doubt that.
Shelburrito for example made a couple of $100,000 per year at the end - had the AIU not finally nabbed her, she would still be doing that.

Are you actually familiar with these? Because I completely made up Tryptinalone. It's not a real steroid.
Again, I'm not sure why one of the main critiques on Jerry is that he said he had never heard of nandrolone. The names of these steroids all blend together and it can be hard to distinguish them (as you showed). Stick to the actual critiques of Jerry like defending Shelby, allowing her to be around the team, etc.
ON Athletics is getting better talent. ON is the better club right now.
Without Grant Fisher, BTC is basically Tinman Elite.
Wtf? Moh Ahmed, Evan Jager, cranny, Schweizer, Kincaid, mcgorty??? Olympic medals, wc medals, AR’s, CR’s… Talk about a really bad take. You’re either super biased or just poorly educated when it comes to athletics- probably both.
Jager is not his old self and Cranny got smoked by Alicia Monson in the Lausanne Diamond League 3000M. Monson ran 8:26!
You can make the case, and I would, that she is the premier American woman's middle distance runner. She set four new personal bests in 2022 including 5000m in 14:31.11, 10,000m in 30:51.09, and 8:31.62 indoors over 3000m. Her 3000m and 5000m performances are identical according to the World Athletics points rating system at 1220 points.
Grant Fisher is the best runner in North America. Hands down. But without him on BTC, they are a little old in the tooth and in need of new blood. Cooper should help.
There's no way someone with a Stanford engineering degree is going to risk their professional reputation to dope in distance running.
Wait until Cal alums find out that a Stanford engineering degree is a get-out-jail-free card. They are not going to be happy.
"Your honor, my client can't possibly have been driving drunk...lying on his taxes...beating his wife...whatever.... He's a Stanford engineer. He's got too much to lose!!!"
PS I guess by your logic, Elizabeth Holmes' mistake was dropping out of Stanford. If she'd just finished her degree, she would not have been tempted to lie to all those people about Theranos.
