For a runner intending only to race up to the half marathon, two hours is an appropriate long run from 60-80 minute finishers. (This could be 15 to 20 miles, depending on the runner and what they do in the run.)
Runners intending to race the marathon, even months away, should routinely do 2.5 hours, even when training for a half.

Bread and butter workouts for a half.
1) Long run. I typically target 1:40-1:55ish which is around 14-16. Last 20 minutes hard if I feel good, if not keep it chill.
2) Tempo. 8 miles at goal HM pace.
3) Intervals, I like to do something like 4-5 X 1.5 miles, 3-4 X 2 mi. or 5-7 X mile. Something like that.
8 miles at HM race pace? dafuq are you smoking?
About 16 kilometers
3k warm up 2k cool down
